preloading
does this destroy throwout bearings with the extended amount of time we are using the bearing.
i am needing to replace mine due to squeling when the clutch it applied, and i have notice it has a grove cut in it now that isnt suppose to be there

Yeah as far as I know wear is when the clutch is pressed and fully riding on the fingers. Like people that hold the clutch down at stop lights rather than neutral. Heck I know people that don't even use their brake to hold them at a light but just keep riding the clutch. One thing I can say about preloading is to not hold it. I made that amateur mistake and glazed my TODA flywheel and pressure plate to where I'm not sure a resurface would fix it lol. I was so into it when I first learned and tried it out that I would go to the line and already start it well before the launch.
Now I deep stage with the first lights on, make sure the other person is up to the line too, then preload and slightly slip it just make the 2nd light come on. I make sure it holds that way so when I go to rev before the launch it doesn't slip and red light. Then I back the revs down until the first light starts, rev and go! Obviously if I were on a pro tree I'd preload fully and rev when the 2nd staging lights come on. Happy launching!
