This was recently sent back for overhaul... We ran the axle at IDRC in OCT Fontana blew a tranny and called it a day.. We removed the tranny for rebuilding and never bothered looking at the axle.. We installed our new motor and tranny and saw the axle like this.. Is this normal? and if not what cause this we had the tranny serviced and we are only making a little over 600 hp ... I'm going to call DSS tomorrow and talk to them but just wanted to see if anything like this has happened to anyone

Happened to both of my rear Pro-Series axles on the talon. Drivers side broke shortly there after and they warrantied both.

 

No its not normal. Its def twisted! Send it in for repair.

Your axle wasn't in all the way. you might want to check your diff too.

 

Happened to me as well. I sent my axle in and DSS said they had changed the material so this wouldn't happen again.

 

man thats horrible i usually see this with transmission input shafts lol

 

They upgraded the material on mine as well to help make this not happen again.

dammm i got that on my 3.9's so have they change the material they use or what

 

If the shaft has an "A" stamped on the end that's the old material and needs to be turned in for an upgrade. DSS will take care of you.

I have my dss 5.9s in my street car right now. It is an all motor civic that makes no more than 230whp and my axle was twisted like this when i had the tranny out the other day... i think it's pretty pathetic. It is the same axle they have had to fix multiple times due to defect.

 

I have does axles i broken millions of trannys never the axles look like that when i pull them out i got over 100 passes on my axles not one problem here dss ftw 800+ hp

 

Which side of the axle is that, passenger or driver?

 

Passernger duhh driver side has a shaft

What diff are you using?

 

Had this happen to us stripped a shaft 5.9 sent it back to be fixed and stripped it again. DSS stood by there product every time great customer service and verry good guys. Found I had 2 broken gears in my quaife.
