i have a gsr tranny that has always worked fine. i broke 4th gear and had a buddy replace it as he has done my last 3 trannys. for some reason, reverse does not want to go in.. i was able to get it in 2 times out of 50 trys... has anyone had this issue before.. or is there a link to a thread that has had this.. we ae going to pull it down wensday but wanted to know if anyone has had this before...dont know if im posting in the right area

 

Sounds like when the shift change assy was put back in the reverse change holder was not properly put back in causing the binding.

 

hopefully it didnt get bent by him trying to mash it into reverse.
does 5th still work properly?

 

might be a piece of gear in there and it is stuck in the shift selector

 

a bent interlock? Its hard to tell by looking at it.
