damn i just watched the video.. no reason to trash talk him, i feel bad for him.. it was a nice car! no doubt everyone has had their first time at the track (not that i know it was his, just assuming )

Re: New Dodge Viper... (JL)
Inexperenced driver with a high horsepower car .I was a sales manager of a Honda dealership and would take brand new 1999 Civic SI's to test and tune all the time.Drag race them and sell them the next day. I highly dought that a dealer would let an $80,000+ car leave the lot without someone paying for it!Also if it was a new car it would have a window sticker (MSRP) in it until it was paid for.

Lots of dealers pull the stickers and place them in the glove box. Especially on the Viper as it is in the line of sight on the front glass and must be removed to test drive as in most 2 seat cars. I figure a sales manager would at least know that.

Well that explains your lack of common sense.

Re: New Dodge Viper... (nsxmatt)
I don't know of any dealer that takes out the window stickers before the car is sold. The MSRP sticker on a 2 door car is usually on the passenger window or on the front glass passenger side.I guess the only way to find out is go to a Dodge dealership and check out a new viper.

It's on the front window like on the S2000. All Honda sales managers get paperwork saying it blocks vision and should be removed for test drives.

In 1999, I never received any paperwork saying to remove MSRP from the front windshield. Also it may depend what state your in.

Damn... either 1st unwound real fast or he was spinning the whole time. I figured 1st would go to 50 mph... so maybe it did just get there that quickly. I dunno.
Real bad day for the guy.

Re: New Dodge Viper... (White Smoke)
1st gear is VERY long... when you shift into 2nd an STi revving to 8k is shifting into 3rd... I would venture to say that 1st ends right at or near 60mph. When you shift into 2nd it puts you right at peak torque...and if you slam the gear...both tires are going to be spinning hard.
I think the rear tires are 335/35/18's and they're Michelin Pilot Sports...not cheap tires by any means. You have to throttle the car in first and going into 2nd or else you'll get squirrely. sucks, but don't make fun of him until you've driven(RACED) a SRT-10 and experienced it.

A car without driver aids and built like a Viper will be difficult. I think we can all expect that much. I can only imagine the traction loss.
