new boost controller...your thoughts!
so let me get this straight.
If I want to use base pressure for launches and 1st gear, I can set up an output in my EMS to trigger the AMS-500 to turn on(hence turning on the first stage) and then it'll ramp up to selected second stage with another output making that 3 stages?

output from your ems turn on one input( goes to target pressure) when your ems sends another output to the second input on the ems it then goes to the target in that stage.

Good question, interested as well.
If possible I think $299 would be a helluva deal on that.
Literally blow everything else out of the water.

Okay I'm not too concerned about the ramp feature. what I'm wondering is, I want to run wastegate pressure for the first 2 gears, then stage 1 for 3rd gear, then stage 2 for 4th and 5th gears. Is that possible with this unit? If It's powered up with a + and -, but no input signal sent to either inputs, will this leave me at wastegate pressure?

yes its possible to do that. you run no + or - to either input for first and second gear. you would send a + or - to input 1 in 3rd gear and another + or - to input 2 for 4th and fifth gear. if you dont want a ramp, you dont have to have one...but the option is there. keep in mind with the ramp feature, you can start ramping in the boost in 3rd gear so that by the time you get to 4th or 5th gear your there already, but brought the boost in sooner so your going faster...

the s300 boost controll works pretty well. obviously for the guys running s100-s200 this controller is a no brainer. this will also blow away any greddy controller or anything like that.
with the s300 you are locked into a certain boost per gear with no ramp rates. one big thing that i REALLY like about th NLR controllers is that they regulate how much pressure is applied to the top of the wastegate....no more throwing duty cycle at it hoping its going to make more boost untill you get to the point where it starts working. you dont have the issue where 1 or 2 percent duty cycle is making a wide range of boost thats hard to controll. another big thing is that this controller uses a decrease solenoid so you can run a higher boost level and bring the boost DOWN when you trigger one of the inputs. you can also use c02 and it will vent through the decrease solenoid if there is a problem or when you need to reactivate one of the lower stages.
there is also an endless amount of possibilities on how you can set up triggering the different stages. if your creative, you can get it to do whatever you want
i will have an AMS-1000 in my racecar, and an AMS-500 in my street car

Can I increase the boost per second with the ramp feature? lets say something like 5psi per second with the ramp feature..... is that possible?

Do I really need TWO boost control solenoids? </TD></TR></TABLE>if I remember correcty, 1 is to increase pressure and the other decreases pressure
