Need Help picking a car quick!
As you can tell by my name I badly regret letting my S2K go two years ago and miss it dearly. I have about 2500 to buy an older Honda and want anything remotely close to that go cart feeling, great handling, rev happy car. I have done tons of my own research and want to get back into a Honda/Acura. Here are the cars in my price range and I'd like help narrowing it down.
1. CRX Si hatch. I found a few with B16's and B18's already in them but I'm hesitant to take on cars this modded without my knowledge.
2. Civic hatch.
3. Integra (1st or 2nd gen, can't afford 3rd gen GSR so don't recommend that plz).
4. Prelude (again can't afford latest gens just 1-4th gen).
My goal is to have a reliable DD that handles well and is "quick" not necessarily fast. I think in one of these lighter cars a good 180-200 whp should be good for 14's with a good driver right? If I can get around stock S2K times without having to get deep in the engine I'd be very happy.
So I suppose as part of that I need the motor/platform that responds very well to bolt ons and light modding. Maybe in the future I can go for a built motor or turbo for for now running high-mid 14's with bolt ons/gears etc should be achievable with one of these?
I understand with general questions like this I'll get gobs of differing opinions so I ask that we try to highlight my priorities and goals.
1. Reliable and decent gas mileage.
2. Responds well to mods prior to deep engine work or FI.
3. Great chassis for handling potential.
4. Must have Vtec. I hate fast and furious and idiots who street race or do their cars up ugly as hell. I want this because it's one of the things I adored so much about my S2K was feeling that turbo like sensation.
5. Must be within a 2500 dollar budget.
Thanks for taking the time to read this (for those who made it through!) I hope to be a member of this Honda community for years to come and thanks for all responses in advance.
PS... I know how forums work, yes I understand what the search function is and no I'm not a noob with cars. I mainly just need quick answers because I may be buying tomorrow and need specific ones.

Couldn't find a general forum. I either had to choose car model, choose what im going to do with it or go in non car forum. If I missed the right forum feel free to direct me. I posted this in the Auto X one as well.
even tho your in the wrong category try to look for a si or a eg/ek with a H22 in it. I have a EK coupe with just cams in it and i love the tourqe in it hope you find what you looking for
Go ahead and take prelude off your list. You won't get what you want out of that. I am a huge fan of crx's. eg and ek hatches will give you a similar feel too.

It sounds like you are fairly open to a chassis. If you aren't a die hard EF fan, I'd lean more to an eg hatch. Us EF guys put up with a lot of BS just to drive a car we like. The engine bays are smaller and there is the whole cable clutch thing. Any engine swap into an eg is basically a bolt in deal. Ek's are a little heavier, but get an even larger engine bay. If its just a toy and you aren't dead set on an EF, eg sounds like your best bet.
