Default Need help with 60ft

update at bottom of thread

So far this year, i had a one time 60ft of 1.7, every other one has been 2.1 with a ton of 1.9's

my setup is;

91 civic hatch ls/vtec turbo (hx35)
stock sleeves, built internals
hondata s300/1000cc inj
b16a jdm s1 trans/stock axles

right now i am boosting off the spring @ 12lbs
using hondata's "anti lag" i make about 10lbs on the launch.

my settings are;
always on
max speed 2mph
launch about 6k
activation 3537
fuel 300
ign tim -30

i run about 8psi in the tires(24.5's) i launch using the ebrake and preload method.

heres my best slip so far;

and a pic of the car

how do you guys setup up your launch? it was suggested to me to put the anti lag on a button instead of always on? i seem to bog then go, are my settings causing the initial stall?

thanks in advance!

There are several things that go into setting the launch up, but from what you are telling us, it seems to be bogging out of the whole. Try using more rpm and less antilag.

Does it spin or bog?

Also at 12lbs of boost your car would be running 11's with 23" tires - if you are going to turn up the power then keep the 24.5" tires though - a friend of mine lost .8 on his times bumping up to 24.5" tires on 10lbs of boost

it will bog then spin. i am getting some axles next week thanks to themidastouch, so i wont be as scared to launch higher.

what mph do you guys have your anti lag set at?

i plan to run more boost in the future thats why i went with the 24.5"

There could be plenty of factors that is making the bog at launch. You might have to much fuel in your map for that amount of boost. Try taking some fuel away from the enrichment on the launch. You could be making the boost but not gerating enough power to get the car off the line.

Have you tried playing around with tire pressures? If you are bogging though, maybe launch a bit higher as see if that helps. It took me a few passes to get my 2-step set up along with my tire pressure. I launch at 7600 rpm and my tires at 5.5psi before the burnout.

yah a bit, i started at 10psi last time. this time i went with 8psi.

i think i need to launch higher... 5.5psi seems crazy! i was getting some sideways looks about my tires at 8psi!

Higher launch RPM and anti lag seems crazy to me the setting.

Yeah, the activation rpm is too low. I usually have to set mine just below the launch rpm. You really don't need to leave with that much boost. Turn the antilag off and turn up the rpm

I'd try more rpm and less boost. and if that doesnt work I'd say its to lean when you launch.

I agree with these guys. I don't use the anti-lag and launch at 8000rpm. make sure you are keeping you foot to the floor and just riding the limiter til you feel the car stop accelerating in 1st. Once I took this advice I went from 1.8 60' to 1.63 60'. Driver mod is usually the best mod your car can get .

the motor is stock sleeves w/weisco's and eagles. the turbo is equivalant to a sc61/60-1... so its not huge but its larger.

next time out i'll have to play with upping the rpm and antilag settings. i'll let you know how it goes.

driver mod ftw! lol. this is my first year with the car on the track, so i definately need more seat time. riding the limiter seems crazy to me... can you explain that one more?

thanks

Your tires will be spinning in first, so letting it ride the rev limiter for a second lets the car speed up a bit more to catch up with the wheel speed.
If you don't do it, the car will try to bog when you shift into second

I run about 6psi in my slicks and lauch at 7500rpm and my car cuts a 1.6 60' on 24.5x7.0r13 MT.

well got back to the track on fri and tried some of the things that were mentioned to me... heres the result

my first 11!!! of my race career it was a 11.9 @121 backed it up with this pass

so the changes i made was i canned the antilag, and set my launch rpm to 6500, that got me my first 1.7. the next pass i tried 6800rpm but i spun too hard as the track was pretty cold. i dropped it back down to 6500 and thats when i ran the 11.7. i ran the tires at 9psi.

i think it has a mid 11 in it if i can get a 1.6 60ft.

having a small issue as well, earlier in the year i smashed the tps against the fuel line on the firewall, so i moved the line in a bit. but i think its doing it again, on the 1-2 shift, cause it will just cut out on me.

lower the tire pressure and bump the launch rpm back up should help you get out harder and with the lower tire pressure should help spinning issues you were having at the higher rpms. 9 psi is definitely on the high end.

yah i will have to try that next time out. i was working my way down from 10.5psi to see what works best. next time out perhaps i'll try a 7k launch and 7-8psi.
