they offer mounting buckets for stuff that you cant just put the threaded shaft threw
http://www.quik-latch.com/quik-latch...-brackets.html
i dont even know how you would use a dzus for a kick paneal mine are still held in with factory screws factory lol
it dont tension it just locks you adjust it till its snug the first time than its snug every time or you can run the spring setup http://www.quik-latch.com/mini-latch-assist-spring.html
the mini latches are nhra approved and rated at 150 lbs i dont think i would trust a dzus over 50lbs

but great write up on them.

bumpers for sure i would use these. paneling not so much. also how does the quick latch tension itself to the piece that is being mounted?
Mounting from the backside? That's simple, Depends on where your mounting it. For my hood I just used one of the holes already there. For the bumper we made custom brackets. I'd have no reason to use these or any fasteners for kick panels. Maybe I haven't reached that level yet to understand what you mean. And I don't see why it wouldn't work when all you have to so is make the screw shorter. They have a spring takes up any slack left over. These are far from heavy. They are billet light weight pieces. Probably weight the same as a dzus if not lighter.
As for tension, the button kinda reminds me of a trailer hitch. The ball is the screw. When the ball goes inside the latch it locks itself similar to a trailer hitch. Only way to break it lose is by pressing the button. I hope I understood what you were asking.

It looks like you could even paint these to match, right?
I mean I see no reason you couldn't.

Nice. I agree that taking off the bumper is really pita. Aligning it too.

Any plans of adding 2 more in the upper middle? Or with only 4 latches is it rock solid?

so to install on an oem bumper....drill hole diameter of threaded part..install with lock nut..then drill hole on fender and install the threaded part? when i do my jdm front i want to have a quick release bumper..was gonna do dzus but this look easier and better...will 2 minis be enough for a carbon fiber hood? any pics of hood install

the 4 i have is plenty. Its not going anywhere. I didnt want to see them on the lower part of the bumper on the outside. So i did two on the bottom side. two you can see and two you cant. Looks cleaner to me. Its not going anywhere. Its WAY more solid that its ever been. I had 4 screws holding it together before. What I like is now I dont have to use the middle screws on the rad support. So there will be no more stress cracks from the bumper hanging from that area.

No thats not how, You drill a hole through the bumper then on the backside you can make some type of flat or L shaped bracket that attacthes to your fender. Drill through that put the nut on one side and the nut on the other.

i didnt take pics of the hood. that was simple. It lines up perfect i can slam the hood from a vertical position and it locks every time. what I have to get used to is unlocking one side and not letting the other fall back in the latch. cause if it barley touches it grabs even if the button is not pressed out.

Yes they will work on a Carbon fiber hood but remember the material of a carbon hood isnt as solid as a steel hood. Id put some type of backing plate behind it for more reinforcement. It will work though. Do the latches more towards the middle instead of outside if your removing your stock latch. Im installing one more right in the middle of the hood near where the stock latch would be. Not cause it wont hold it down but a couple years ago a friend was at my place opened my garage and bent my hood. So it has a slight bend also with the hole in my hood the middle is a lot less rigid. So it needs a little more support there for cosmetics
