More roll cage Questions. ..going crazy
I went up to the shop today to go over how we're going to do the cage. now if i do like an 8pt cage and go around the contours of the stock dash am i going to have much room to sqeeze in ? With the integra dashes they stick out far sothe bars willkinda be in the way from what i heard. Also i guess i would have to relocate my gauges on the pillar? also i run SParco Tourino Seats. i dont know if i can get the side bars to a legal height with becuase of the weay the bolsters stick out soo far and having to keep the door panels.
Any suggestions or Pictures?

You have teg right? ok
Guage Bezel (2 guages)
Then 2 guages in the Dimmer switch and the other hole right by the steering colomn
that looks really good and you could always make a braket for the guages and put them on the a pillar cage bar i have seen it done both ways, the Abacus car has a few hooked to the cage, and Fisher also has 1 guage hooked to the cage. All in what you feel comfordable with and what you thinks looks good.

With 8 point, you have to go through the dash, that's the NHRA spec that it attaches to the firewall. You're going to have to pull your dash out to do it, and it's easier to put up with the wiring that way. Why are you doing an 8 point, is it for road racing? Or are you going to hit 9.99's?

No he prolly is not shooting that high for starters but to be competitive you have to be running over 135 which a Cage is mandotory for NDRA and NHRA. (Section 4.20 in NDRA rule book)

Whats bolstered mean? . The way my cage is, the seat is wide on the top, so the cage kinda wraps around it, then angles in so the door doesnt hit it, i could show u pics if u want.

well Ron that would be sooo very ncie of you
All Sparcos i saw have huge *** bolsters up top like in the shoulder area. The guy building the cage said its gonna be a bitch to get the side bars around them .i suggested going right under where that shoulder hump is, but it might not meet regulations

1. Any **** is worth geting into
2. I could have made it lower if god made me 100lbs lighter, im a big guy and the seat sits me up high, so therefore, the bar was contourly (or lack thereof) made around me sitting in the car
3. Its legal, never had a problem

Could you make one with removable bars at the doors or does it have to be a solid weld? I have seen many local v8 guys doing those...

I am pretty big myself 220 lb 5.11 I get into a cage worse than that in my race car. Lets face it even a bucket seat and no bars its gonna be a bitch to get in and out. If you are gonna run a 8pt cage may as well make a custom dash. Use dzus fastners so you can access everything easy. Other wise keep it a street monster.

its gotta remain a street car though, thats the thing, . keeping the dash on zeus fasteners and gauges in it for some reason dont sound right to me , im keeping all my vents and climate control and electronic ****.

He has to have an OEM factory dash no aluminum dashes, everything has to remain factory look. I have been in and out of a few caged car i am the exact same size as saso and i don't have a problem in fact i like the challange

i dont like the challenge that much since i still drive my car. once and a while i like to take it to work on nice Fridays or weekends. Too much unconfort will make me not wanna drive it anymore.

I don't think it is a challange you just have to get a method of getting in and out of the car you can't get it in like you used to (put your butt down then turn around) it isn't hard. It is nice and cozy in a caged car.
