We will be working on the K too

Based on 25" @ 10000rpm with our 3.070 1st + 4.4 FD:

GSR
1st: 55mph
2nd: 89mph (from 6200rpm)
3rd: 124mph (from 7200rpm)
4th: 163mph (from 7600rpm)

Yes, this does end up with similar figures to our Custom #1 + 4.2. The problem with the GSR ratios is, if you try swapping the 4.4 with our 4.05, then it gets screwed up, however, the Custom #1 will work with both 4.05 and 4.2 depending on what the driver requires.

Then again, the GSR ratio's works ok with the 4.2 as well

Okay, either way (GSR or Custom #1), we will need to make a new 2/3/4 stronger gears.

If we choose the GSR, we need to make both 4.2 and 4.4 FD's. If we choose the Custom #1, we only need to make the 4.2 as we already have the 4.05

Tire Size: 23-24.5"
Max RPM: 9500
WHP/LBFT: 400-600
Trap Speed: 130-145
2nd: stock ITR
3rd: stock ITR
4th: stock ITR
Cuff: Nay
Final Drive: 4.05

Comments on the above:

I am not a SFWD competitor so I cant comment for those guys. But I will comment for the "street" guys since I do have a high powered street car that sees occassional track use. And considering I just sheared my 4th gear in my ITR trans, I may be interested in these gear options, especially if they are swappable into my OEM trans.

I have also used your 4.05FD before. and IMO, the stock ITR gear ratios with the 4.05FD was a blast with 23" tires on the street and at the track. With a little more power, I would say it would be awesome on a 24.5"- 25" tire. Maybe not fast enough for the SFWD guys, but good for the street guys leaving some room to spare.

we all want a small piece of the pie, so try not to leave out the street guys when developing your gearing options. Id say ITR gear ratios with your 4.05FD is perfect for the mainly street cars out there. and IMO, if you offered a 2/3/4 set in stock ITR ratios, you would draw a lot more interest from the average turbo honda guy out there that isnt able to compete at the track on a regular basis in a class like SFWD.

thank you for your feedback, much appreciated and points noted

Just to mention, the Custom #1 ratio is very similar to the ITR, with exception of 2nd gear which uses the longer 1.9

We are making up a few test sets of 1.9/1.43/1.1 just now and will be testing them out on a few cars soon

Okay guys, 2nd gear ratio has changed to 2.0 (this is so that it can be used with both ITR and GSR mainshaft smoothly).

This makes the ratios: 3.070/2.000/1.430/1.100 + 4.05 Final (top speed is 164mph @ 10k, 24.5". If used with 4.4 Final, will be 151mph).

We already have a couple SFWD cars that will be testing these. Are there any Hot Rodders out there that would like to test also? If so, please could you send me an email with your details asap

FYI, gears will be made from High-Nickel 9310 Steel

That would defeat the purpose of "affordable"

Im sure you could put an affordable dog set out there, in comparison to what everyone else is selling theirs for that is.

You cant really win, or compete for that matter in the big boy classes with out a dog set these days.

That is not neccessarily true. If what he builds works, it will sell. I know I am gonna have one.

All motor requires something completely different (take a look at our Insight), and crash box is not it

At the end of the day, you have an H box, not a Sequential

Although we are not ruling out a crash box "in the future" (and I don't want to start an argument about syncro vs crash), at the present moment in time, the advantages of keeping it syncro far outweigh the advantages of manufacturing a new crash box

One thing is for sure, keeping it syncro (and being able to basically hot-swap with an oem tranny and parts) is what differentiates our gears with the "3-5 month wait time" gears that are currently available on the market (or should that be unavailable )

Though... what good is a gear's strength when the OEM style engagement teeth become worn? The entire gear has to be replaced.
