In Memory of Earl Laskey
I'm sure there is no need for another post in regards to this tragic event, but we here at tunerzine.com with the assistance of PNG (Paul Huizenga) decided to put up a little memorial page in respect to everything Earl Laskey has helped accomplish for our sport compact industry. Paul Huizenga had a great collection of timeless photos that we felt should be shared with everyone.
I'll accept any sort of comments that people would like to add to the page so that all his family and friends can remember him for the great things he did.
Please visit the page and feel free to PM me if you wish to leave a comment on the page and I will see that it happens.
Thanks again to PNG for the outstanding photos.

Any death is tragic, especially when it occurs to such a good person.

Earl Laskey,
I recieved the call that you had passed away last night. I couldnt believe what I had just heard. As I type this I am in tears because of all the GREAT memories I have of you. I remember the 1st day I meet you faced to face, it was in Las vegas SEMA show and Mike was there too.
But there are so many little things I learned from you my friend. And I call you my FRIEND with pride because you were exactly that. You are more than a friend, you are my racing father. You taught me a lot of little things about racing that I still remember today. Things like lane choice and the grove. My father was never into racing so I made you my racing father. And mike has been like a brother to me. Your entire family has been soooooo good to me. Earl, Debbie, Mike, Leila, Daniel and Shannon opened up their home to me and I am so thankful for that.
I remember taking you to go eat crawfish for the first time. The fun we had laughing at you while you tried to crack open the shells.
The fun time we had at the JFK 6th floor book depository.
The time in Dallas when Mike won his 1st race in 2003. I remember having to call you after every run when mike made a run while we were on the road.
That one time in Vegas when you told us "I'd hit it" when we pointed out an old lady.
You were a voice for what Sport Compact is today. You saw a lot of what others didnt see in this sport. I will miss talking to you my friend, my dad. You were always there to hear me out when I had issues in my life and you never once judged me. You just listend to what I had to say. I will miss making fun of the things we did on the phone. I spoke to you on thursday and called you on Friday and you didnt answer. You always answer my calls but little did I know you would be making noise in heaven reving up the F20C and showing them what it really means to fly!
I will always miss you friend and racing dad...
RIP Earl Laskey

R.I.P Earl.
It was always a pleasure to run into him at Dan Benson's shop or at the track.
He was a big help and an asset to this board. He will be missed. Condolences to Mike and the rest of Earl's family.

Extremely traggic, i too have found myself in disbelief that Earl is gone. he was always so helpful no matter who it was, he always had time.
he was a true role model for not only us but people everywhere

I've been away for a few days, and this is the first I've heard of this. I was just talking to my friend today, about having my block built by Earl within the next few weeks. Have him build my block was going to be the final piece of the puzzle. I am truly in shock, and some what speechless. My prayers go out to the Laskey family.
Rest In Peace,
Earl Laskey.
