Default Launching Question

My old set up was putting out 277hp All Motor. LSD Type R Trans on 24.5 M&H Slicks.

92mm Stoker - Tilton Twin Disk - Etc. Problem was that I could never get it to shift properly. So I always ran shitty times. 12.6 - 12.7 - 12.8 in that area. Finally I decided to take apart the transmission and inspect it.

Turns out my sliders and syncros were badly damaged. I replaced the stock syncros with carbon ones, replaced the sliders, and dropped in a 4.9 final. And now we have also tweaked that motor just a tad for about a 10-12 hp gain.

Now my question and problem is... I've always launched anywhere from 8100-8500 RPM.

As soon as I go into second gear, my car dies out for about .5 of a second and then it takes off. I have no problem shifting from there and on anymore. Just getting out of the hole in a heart beat is where my dilemma is at.

I've been told that I might be launching too high, or that I need to remove my launch control (two step) - Any more ideas or advice from all you fellow racers?
