launching help
i have an 89 crx si with a sohc zc with a fully built bottom end. i can't catch traction at launch and i'm launching at 1500 rpm and i still can't catch traction. any thing that i can do to make my front tires stick? or what would you guys suggest me to do?
my car sits too low for drag slicks!! what about cheater slicks?
i've been told to not dump the clutch at the line would this be of any help. i figure if i don't dump the clutch then my r/t will be slow!

Raise the car up and put some slicks on it

MMM.. Could drop. down to about 25 psi. on the tires.. But you porb. already tried that... Trying to hook up in a crx isn't an easy task...
Single cams are a b*tch to hook up with because of the power to wieght ratio.. But then again this is and issue with all hondas...
you have a motor that has almost matched torque with horse power....
your best bet for hooking would prob. be to get a set of G sport traction bars also get a set of slicks get a luanch conrtol setup and launch lower and ride out the clutch a little more

I can't disagree more with that.
The only reason he is having issues is because the car is dumped with hideous camber AND on street tires at the drag strip.
We had a 2000 lb crx with a B20vtec and nitrous spraying out of the hole on 20 inch slicks. It would consistently pull mid 1.60's. The only thing wrong with his car is height and tire selection. Sure a traction bar may held once you get everything else worked out but if you are spinning launching at 1500 rpm's with a single, there is a LOT more wrong with the car than a traction bar.

You continue to show your level of intelligence through you replies so I will bow out prior to you bringing me down to your level and then beating me with experience.

Sorry to say again but with a low car the axles are probly binding when your at the track raise it up you will save alot of hassle. I love my car slammed but at the track its way up she goes. Rob
Just practice your driving and you will be ok. You should not be dumping the clutch, try pre-loading the drivetrain and slip the clutch so you don't bog out. But something is wrong if your spinning at 1500rpm, are you possibly pressing the throttle before fully disengaging the clutch?
Good luck dude, its a struggle, running slicks for the first time this year, ***** tuff
