my guess is that they get MUCH better atomization with the carbs

Could someone elaborate on this? Other than this engine is designed to be run at wot the entire time, thats the only guess that I can think of. I know air flows through a carb to mix with fuel, but I dont understand why it is better.

sorry for thread jack.

To achieve the atomization of a carb, you would have to move the injector so far back that the manifold becomes impractical

What's impractical about it? F1 has no problem hanging the injectors well above the t/b stacks. We're talking about a drag car, right?

impractical like the injectors would need to be about where the firewall is.

I don't think that's true, but neither one of us really has anything more than an opinion on the matter. lol

K series = injectors would need to be where the radiator support is...

Who needs a hood?

The carburetor is a marvel of mechanical engineering.

Carbs are finicky, but so are most EFI systems. Nothing can so simply give you a rock solid A/F ratio with the twist of a screw like a carb can. Rock solid A/F's in minutes.

Most of you are too young to remember carbs let alone points! Points were a disaster!

I call it the pointless generation!

Kudos
