IMPORT FACE-OFF season review, thanks, 2009 forecast and reminders...
First off, congratulations to DARREN THOMAS for winning the 2008 NOS Energy Drink's Import Face-Off Race points chase presented by LightningMotorsports.com
INDUSTRY REPORT from IFO perspective: Despite a couple of weather cancellations and some unsuccessful new location tryouts, 2008 has been IFOs best year for attendance counts since starting in 2001. Is the SC industry really dying, or is it "recession proof" like the video game industry? The demographics are the same for both (young males). Performance shops and parts companies, please post your 2008 reviews to help give IFO and everyone else a feel for the 2009 season.
VERY SPECIAL THANKS to those who helped pass out fliers and sponsored, especially NOS Energy Drink, SPEC, Lightning Motorsports, and Forced Performance.
ATTN PARTS COMPANIES AND SHOPS: Want to give 100% back to the racers??? Contact IFO at HybridEntertainment78@yahoo.com for product or payout offers for the 2009 points winners. Please realize IFO has been around and will be around for a long time (75+ events since 2001). There have been a ton of groups, associations, aspiring promoters, sanctioning bodies, etc. who either meet up yet never actually get anything done, or go out of business after a few years. IFO is an established, successful racing/show series that gets things done without wasting time with group meetings or waiting on bigger sponsors and magazine support.
2009 IFO FORECAST AND REMINDERS: Payouts and entry fees will remain the same, 200+ mile free entry vouchers will still be offered. Q8/16 racers, please realize that IFO pays down to semis/quarters! IFO winners are always paid on-site in cash. Payouts are never mailed out, so it's your own fault if you don't pick up your money after winning!

The Street Quick 8 heads up has to have both front seats and factory dash etc. i believe, D.O.T. approved tires and exhaust with muffler. Dont think there is a minimum weight or tire size limit.

If there are ever enough entries to warrant a class. As of now, not enough.

The field is always full and everybody is happy, why would they mess with that class?
There is already a class for AWD's on radials.

Oh yes, Merry Christmas from IFO and feel free to post suggestions for the 2009 IFO season. I'd have to agree that fixing unbroken things is bad. The classes and rules seem to be perfect for the amount and type of cars that regularly compete at IFO. ... just wish more companies would step up to support the racers by putting up products or money towards the points chase (one of the main reason I made this post, lol). GIVE BACK TO THE RACERS ifo is not asking for a single cut.

Still Columbus and Kansas City. Cleveland and Chicago area were two new locations IFO tried in 2008, but both had very weak turnouts, so can't afford to go back... sorry.

Have you ever looked into ORP in Indy or Chicagoland speedway for the Chicago events? Us41 is a pretty jank track which is why a LOT of people didnt bother going.

There are several Chicago area tracks to choose from and all were contact, but US41 was and still is the only one available for booking IFO.
ORP was booked in 2008, but we had to cancel because of Hurricane Gustav that hit us in Baton Rouge... trying to rebook ORP for 2009, but nothing is confirmed, so only Kansas City, Columbus, OKC, and Tulsa for the Midwest right now.
