I need advice on a trailer selection.
I am in the market for an open trailer. I want a dual axle trailer that is easy to load the car on and off. My car sits pretty high but, My intercooler sits lower than the front bumper. If you have any reccomendations please let me know. Thanks

I use an open trailer and I just throw some blocks of wood on the ramps so i don't rip my bumper off...
My trailer is made by Dively and is dual axle with brakes

I also use a open trailer. I use the jack on the front of the trailer to bring the back of the trailer down when loading the car up. One of my friends has a inclosed trailer and it is kinda of a pain to get out or in the car when it is in the trailer and it is a little harder to tie the car down.

My suggestion would be to just take it to a trailer lot and see what it fits on the easiest. Jacking up the front of the trailer and using the right combination and height of wood blocks to help roll it on is your best bet.
You can also consider attaching a winch to the front to help you ease it on and be able to keep a close eye on it and ease the hunch of acceleration as you load it

Had a friend that fabed up a custom drop in piece with a had crank winch. It slid into the front of the trailor. It was unbelivably easy and made the loading process of the car easy and quick. Cost less than $75 (winch being the most expensive) to build. Just an idea.

Dont know if your talking about the kind of trailor that tilts down to "ease in loading" . BUT if you are, DONT do it. I could load my car up on a conventional trailor and have it straped down ready to go in the same amount of time it took to get the other "tilt" trailor ready for the car to be loaded.

I use a open trailer and to get the race car on the trailer i made a stepped wood block with a combination of 3 pieces of 2x8 boards screwed together in a form of steps and placed under the trailer ramps , no need to jack the front up..
Got this trailer for $1300

Out in MN here, there is an open trailer built for low hot rods...it's similar to the tilt beds, but it also slides back as well, lowering the clearence.
IF I remmeber correctly, it was like $3000 new with brakes

Brian, I just saw an old thread of yours. Is your trailer a 16' dovetail? You simply raise the front of the trailer w/ the crank that assists in hooking up the tongue to the ball?

for your budget, i recommend a carson utility trailer, i bought mine brand new for $1250 with the tandem axels and electric brakes, i bought the ramps seperately for $80, they are five footramps as aposed to the standard four foot.
