how do you work your alternators?
In my integra i have a motec harness, it does not have a provision for the alternator, i was told they are self regulating. meaning, i connected a battery wire to the alternator from the battery. I also have a race ati dampner, It will hang around 12 v, then creep down to 10.5 or so over running time. There is no plug pluged in the alternator.. is there a activation + or -?
you have to run 12v switch power to the plug that is usually built into the OEM engine harness. the alt wont work with out that.
my car is dead nuts rock solid at 14.3 volts the entire way down the track.

may be a long shot, but which wire is it.

it may be low becuase of the twin a1000s and all my electronics, or is my alt just not tuning its self all the way on. When i unhook the wire form alt to battery, the car starts to die, when its on, it will idle, then slooooly start to die.

Tony, Cant you just run the black/yellow wire to the output/charge post of the alternator, then the alternator would start charging as soon as the engine turns over? It would essentially turn the stock alt. into a one wire alternator similar to a race unit? I was just thinking about this the other day and maybe I am totally wrong. Happened before

I tried originally doing this, but it ends up just draining the battery, since the regulator is always on whether or not it is turning. Better option is to wire it to key on, or use an output from your EMS of choice to turn the alternator on over a few hundred rpm. I have mine set to turn on at 400rpm, that way it doesn't load the engine down during cranking.

un reliable engine builder.
only thing that is salvage able is the benson sleeves.
yes i have motec on both of my cars. I use the same one, i rarely drive the "race" car, and when i do, i just load the correct map.
