Idle and bump the car into the pre-stage using the E-brake then on the 2 step to light up the stage bulbs using the E-brake once again to pump the car forward.

cruise to the first bulp...preload the clutch and use the ebrake to get into the 2nd beam...i dont get on the 2 step untill both cars have lit both sets of bulbs.

we do it to preload the suspension so you dont shock the drivetrain so hard when you launch.

stock axles and 600 horsepower.....ive NEVER broken an axle....so i think it works!

This is more of an etiquette thing than a how-to-stage thing, but it's a matter of courtesy that if you pre-stage (light the first set of bulbs) first that you let the other guy pre-stage before you stage (light the second set of bulbs).

Also, unless you're bracket racing, practicing for bracket racing or want to race the guy next to you don't worry about the lights. The clock doesn't start until you roll through the beams. You could sit there all night and it wouldn't matter. Your reaction time has no relevance to your ET so there's no pressure to cut a good reaction time until you actually need to (bracket racing, or actually racing your opponent). Take the time to figure out how to launch your car before you actually try to launch it against the lights. The quality of your ET comes primarily from your launch so you don't want to blow it. Once you get a decent launch strategy down then you can worry about your R/T.

If you get a chance, take the time to watch other racers first and see what they are doing. But like the others have already stated, I use my e-brake as well before launching. Since you will be racing on street tires, you won't need to launch at a high rpm. Have fun and good luck

You need to do a search using the keywords "Preload or "launching techinques". I know I've covered this about 20 times.

That's cause your crazy 2step builds boost instantly. Mine take a sec.

Your 2step sounds like an Uzi. I'm sure your turbine wheel hates you

haha ive been pretty lucky and had zero turbo problems ever. however i dont live on the 2 step to see if its going to cause any problems. i do have to say that i like the way my 2 step sounds! i want to see what this 2 step sounds like on an all motor car....i installed and tuned a tec kit last week but forgot to hook it up and see! maybe i'll do it next time the car comes in..i think we are going to try a larger throttlebody.

i cant make up my mind how i want to activate my 2 step this year.....last year i had 2 relays running together between the clutch switch and the ebrake. i dont like it on just the clutch switch.....i dont like it on just the ebrake for the sake of burn outs...and i dont want it on a button either. decisions decisions

my 2nd run...i had a .155 reaction time and ran a 10.2 but i missed secong gear...
my first run had a .987 reaction and ran a 9.842@72.9mph...but my start sucked and i eased it into second instead of trying it fast...my tranny is messed up...once i get my itb's on there and get it tuned it'll be better...i ran 9.8 twice...but than again thats full interior, untuned, street tires(which spun) and i dunno how to drive the car yet.
