Default How to Control Dual Stage Boost Controller via VSS

I am running a TurboXS Dual Stage Boost Controller and would like to electronically trigger the 2nd stage of boost via the speed sensor. My EMS has no provision for this as far as I can tell, all the outputs are either rpm or map based. (waiting to hear back from enginees (electromotive). Is there any other way to do this and what have others done.

i have no idea how u would manipulate it through your VSS if u cant access it through your Tec3.

You should just buy one of these.

A timer is a possibility but I would definitly prefer something speed or even gear based if its at all possible.

I've never heard of anything that'll convert a VSS pulse, and I don't see the average person doing this, unless you're an EE.

you'd be suprised at the effectiveness of a timer. Takes a little testing, but when it works, it works well

i have a question. if you use the vss based boost control on hondata s300 wont it get crazy if u come out the hole spinning? ur mph will obviously get to the point it needs to switch boost levels even earlier than it should since ur spinning, so the boost will up itself and cause u to spin even more? does that make any sense to u guys? if so, can someone provide some input on that matter? thanks.

you would just set it for a mph higher than the gear is worth
i.e- my b16 tops at about 41-43 mph while spinning in first, i set the second stage at 47-50mph so it its give a little time in second b4 lighting the tires back up in second with the increased boost level
if that makes any sense

tec doesnt have an output to do what your trying to do ironically. if your creative you can come up with different ways to do it...but its all going to be kind of like reinventing the wheel for something very simple to take place. since your running such a basic and simple controller just use a switch or a timer. i'd look into a little nicer of a boost controller if i was you. i love my nlr....its expensive but amazing.

im actually very curious to see how your car is gonig to turn out with big power on tec. judging by the numbers in your profile your still a little below the brick wall that i hit. keep me posted

You would always set your next gear target points at higher speed so that the EMS could never activate two settings in one gear..but if the vss vs. boost is set up correctly the car shouldn't break loose besides first..If you bring power in gradually enough it's all pull...

FWIW, A'pexi AVC-R does gear-based boost. Not sure about MPH though.
