HONDATA is it all that?????
Im thinking about going Hondata for my engine management system, just wanted some input on how user friendly and effective is it for b18c1/n20 set up! oh....it is the s200!
i agree with someone above me. hondata came out at the right time. generally i would put it in a category of ppl that dont know how to tune their motors (including me) but i would buy somethin like uberdata b4 hondata because uberdata does the same thing for less money.
thnx for all the info guys....ive have already ordered hondata s200, and hopefully will run better times at the drag strip.

hondata is a waste of money
all it is, is a glorified chipped ecu that's 4 times the price that you should pay.
uberdata, chrome, turboedit, etc...etc.... they all do the same thing, they are all FREE. http://www.pgmfi.org/phorum is where to get them

Well I have to disagree about the K-series comment. I dont run a Hondata on my Civic I ran an aftermarket programmable computer and I still get the same power out of it as what you can with a K-pro and I dont run the VTC functions on the motor yet..

Hondata nitrous controls
worked awesome on my last setup and I plan on using it again. Seems to be something you can utilize.
I don't believe that Uberdata/Crome supports any options like that.
Here's a small write up I did on Hondata nitrous controls a while back https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=496504

I've got between 220-230whp we dont have VTC cam gears yet though which will help us out alot I think. we pulled over 200whp on our first dyno run and since then have dropped 0.5s with the last few mods we have made..
would you recommend the k-pro for my drag car?I really dont plan on using the VTC function though. Were really looking hard for an EMS,but cant find one that fits our needs.BTW,its a crx, NA k20a2 engine, and will be built but just has a ported head, valvetrain and I/H.
really?I was really thinking about that also, but in another thread, someone said it wont be released for another few months, which brought me down cuz i was really thinking about getting it.I saw it on ebay though. What do you guys think about the AEM my setup?I dont have much exerience with anything besides the hondata and Accel DFI.
I think you are getting more for your money with the AEM than you are with the K-Pro.
They don't even provide the ecu do they? I think they just charge you a grand to modify the one you've got. Isn't that how it works at Hondata?

Why dont you get a complete wire in computer. We pulled about 2/3rds of the wiring loom out of the engine bay with MY LINK PLUS computer that I'm running. there is so much you dont need to run, especially if you dont intend to run the VTC functions.
Personally after seeing the difference it really made with a K-pro on a full race DC5R I wasnt really that impressed with the Hondata. It took the dyno shop about 8hrs to gain 10whp over the factory settings which gave it as much power as my EG hatch. We dyno'd my EG back to back with a JDM DC5R and made an extra 30whp with a filter, header, half an exhaust. Since we have down graded our exhaust size and gain alot of power..

wire in LINK. it was pretty easy to set-up although we got them to re-configure the comp to use the CAM-ANGLE pick-up instead of using a Crank Angle.. We tuned the car in under 1hr I think all up it was 5 dyno runs.. and we gained over 20whp in the mid range..
