Yupp, you should always run the highest octane you can find...just to be on safe side.

Dope...I wouldnt even spray 100 on 93...your begging to get owned.

Race Gas is cheaper than a rebuild.

this is going to be with a wet kit and it is a dual stage also so it wont be as hard on the motor and my freind is running a 100 shot wet kit on his 98 GSR on pump gas

i myself will be going a 2 or a 3 deg retard on the ignition

I would stay away from a dual stage system for just a 100 shot. The more you can get in from the start the quicker the car will go (with slicks). As far as high comp. goes, I run 12.1 and I can tell you that the tuning window for staying out of detonation becomes smaller and smaller as comp. ratio goes up. I would also use race gas at least 100 octane or better.

I have seen some V8's that run higher than the 12:1 comp ratio. Actually one was somewhere around 14:1 and he had gas on it. He ran a single carb setup on a 406 it was in a Mustang and it somehow managed to stay together. Its all in the tuning that car also ran 8.72 at 162 mph on drag radials.

you can run 14.1 I have some friends that run IHRA pro mod and they run that and higher. But the ring lands on v-8 pistons are twice that of honda pistons. I have learned that it is much safer to run a little less comp. and use more nitrous. I was running 13.5 on my last motor that did not last long. The comp. was not the problem I had the fuel jetting and pressure way to rich, trying to play it safe. I think that if the comp. ratio was a little lower it may have not lifted the ring lands so quickly. You can run high comp. but if you are not out to set records you should just play it safe.
