I made about 9-10 over the dc jdm 4-1, but ran out of fuel. It`s a good unit. Gains over the dc also depend on your current mods.

Hey Enzo,
I'm planning on getting a SS header-tech header, but I had a question: If I buy one and heat wrap it, will that damage the header?? I was actually going to get it jet-hot coated black, and then wrap it...

Heat wrap will shorten the life of any header! It does help keep heat inside the tubes. Some guys coat the inside of stainless steel as an additional thermal protective and leave the outside alone so they will keep the nice gold color of stainless steel.

Don't wrap it, have it coated instead. Wrapping can be a pain in the ***, then you have to deal with the wrap falling apart after a while, then you increase the fatigue that is induced into the tubing and welds, typically resulting in cracked welds, and in some rare cases cracked tubing. I sent my header off to be coated, it resulted in much lower underhood temperatures, which was my goal.

HEHE i know i dont like how it looks wrapped.I would rather leave it the way it is or atleast coat it if your worrying about the temp.

I like the look of the gold header, but I am worried about the underhood temps. So I guess what im going to do is get the inside coated and leave the outside alone.

I actually do like the way heat wrapping looks, but if it's going to damage a $700 header, there's no way im going to do it. I did it to my JDM DC but that thing is mad cheap..
