Default GS-R shift points

Got a question for those running a stock GS-R tranny w. stock rev-limit. What revs are you getting when you shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. From 8000 to xxxx rpms on upshifts? I'm trying to build a short gear tranny, and looking for info on GS-R shift points. Thanks!

Shift points for most VTEC motors will be right before fuel cut....I know shiftin at 8000 on a B16/ITR tranny takes you down to highs 5K's 56-5800

A GSR should shift at/near fuel cut for best acceleration...

SergEK... thanks for answering... what i'm specifically looking for is someone to go out in a GSR and shift at fuel cut and tell me what the revs drop to. I know the GS-R tranny has a smaller 2nd vs. the Civic SI/ITR trannies, so I wanna know how much more the revs drop in a GS-R compared to the Civic SI/ITR trannies as I want to close up the spacing between 2nd and 3rd for road racing.

A few hundred rpm at most different....best thing to do would be to slap a 4.9 FD and call it good...unless you want a custom gear set at which point ATS should be your next stop...their web site is pretty informative when it comes to shift points and FD's

SergEK, thanks for the pointing of the ATS website. I've already spoke with them, and with Kaaz, and with King/Mugen about short gearbox. I am going with a completely new set of gears customized to my needs. As I said, the GS-R has a different second gear from the Civic Si/ITR and I'm trying to see how much difference having the second gear from the GSR and remove my SI. Anyways... I had someone go out in a GSR for me and give me the data I needed. Thanks!
