What a weekend. It was unbelieveable how many people were at that event. When they said they sold out spectator tickets I didn't believe it. At the end of the day on Sat. the stands were FULL, no bullshit! It was incredible. Watching 10 second mustangs and camaros race doesn't do much for me, but the sheer size of the event and seeing cars race 4 lanes at a time was pretty sick.
Huge thanks to Frank and the crew at DSS for putting this together. They said that the 500 racer spots sold out in something like 60 seconds! Frank said he and 4 of his guys were all sitting at the computer ready to buy as soon as they started selling them and they barely got them.
I got some pretty cool video but my laptop got a nasty virus at the hotel so i'm trying to get everything off. I should have something together by the end of the week. Got some in car from my 9.09 pass and one on the outside of the car watching the front tire. The tire does some CRAZY stuff man, I was blown away watching the video. Also got an in car from Howards 9.1x run.
We had a great time out there, thanks to everyone who came by and said hi. The domestic guys that came by in the pits were just dumbfounded. They'd walk by and glance over and then do a double take and come over and look. Heard a lot of negative stuff about imports in the stands and such and then people find out how fast you run and they're like WTF? It was awesome watching us, RLZ and Inline Pro in qualifying. They had us running in the 9.0-9.45 group. All the domestics in that group were crazy looking race cars with more tire on one side of the car that we had on all 4 corners. They were looking at us in the lanes like WTF are these Hondas doing in this group. lol

BTW, found out what my problem was last time I went out on the PPG gears when I had 4th gear problems. The shift linkage is a hair too short and it wasn't bottoming out on the stop on the top side so I didn't think anything of it. The problem was inside the G Force shifter. The mechanism was bottoming out on the inside front, when shifting into 2nd and 4th. It was barely in enough to engage the gear at rest and on the dyno. Once on the track with the chassis flexing and such, it wasn't going in far enough. Fixed the linkage and all is good now. Leave it to me to make a good trans look bad. Sorry!
For anyone else with the G Force shifter, the lever needs to be perfectly centered when in neutral. If it's offset towards the front or back even a little, you run the risk of the assembly bottoming out on the housing inside before it's all the way in gear.

It was really unbelievable listening to the crowd scream with cheers when the imports ran down all the domestics, its something I would of never expected to hear; especially in the south. It was also insane being there to watch InlinePro's S2000 lift its tires off the ground, when the Mustang beside it couldn't even do that!
Still kind of mad they picked the slow class to run, but o well maybe next time

overall we had so much fun..it was great being there with all the guys..Gary, Brad, Tony, Mat, Brian, Ya, Jeremy and so many others..but I sincerely want to thank Frank who was there with us and made this all possible. It was so memorable and thanks to the domestic guys for embracing our demographics..

Great job guys. I know how a lot of you feel about the v8 guys at the track. I get it all of the time and you are 100% correct that their mood changes when you cross the finish line.

A guy even asked me while I was strapped in. If I knew that tire was real flat.
Ready for a shipment of Bojangles?
