60ft looks awesome for radials. if you rev it higher you could probably get a better time out of it.

Why?

Other than better strength and reliability, the only gearing advantage it has is a slightly shorter first gear. The JDM S1 is just fine.

I think your 14.5 is probably about it. The 93 MPH seems a little low. Try to invest in some nice cams for more power.

EDIT: Here's a thought. My B16 seems to run best when vtec is set around 5000. Any less and it bogs. I hit a 14.3 with it at like 5100.

you are losing power with vtec hitting at 4200 rpms. put it back up to stock and run it again. i think it has more than that in it. a friend of mine last night at maple grove was running a 91 crx hf w/ b16 swap and couldn't pull better than a 14.8 on street tires while playing with his vtec point. i told him to put it back to stock and he ran his best of 14.6 on street tires with a 2.2 60ft. the only time you should play with vtec actuation is on a dyno so you can see its gains and losses.

one thing you guys are forgetting.. when he shifts at 8k, he probably drops down to 6000 rpm for the next gear.. he's not loosing any power when vtec kicks in at 4800.. the motor should have never dropped out of vtec.. unless he's spending too much time and his rpm dropping down to 5k.. then yeah.. but i doubt that.

he's got a great 60', and a good 1/8th mile ET.. mph is slightly down.. one of my buddy's here with a b16 crx usually runs 75mph in the 1/8th..
it seems as though its loosing some top end the 2nd half of the quarter... (slow shift?.. or maybe chirping the tires?)

depending on how hes launching his car it may fall out of vtec at the beginning in 1st gear. even if it were to not fall out of vtec and were to drop down to say 4300 or even 4600 hes still gonna lose power because because it shouldn't hit vtec until 4900 or 5000.

that sucks u broke the axles. I wasn't saying u should rev higher on the luanch but rev higher at the end of each gear. usually b16's are still making good power @ 8k so when u go to a higher gear u r missing out on some acceleration still.. I think revving it to 8500 could get u another 1/10th or so.. keep the luanch how it was when u hit the 1.9

I'm going to keep my luanching under 6000 for a wile. All I want to do now is replace the axcel and get back out to the track. I'm going to get my vtec set in around 5000 and start shifting at 8200. Thanx for all the input. Keep it comming.

hmm.. i guess i didnt take into consideration where he launched at.. i usually launch at 6k or 6.5k.. i allow my tires to spin and let the drag radials do their job. i never bog and drop out of vtec doing this.
