DONT POWERSHIFT, it makes minimal diff and its not wurth messin up ur tranny. just shift as fast as u possibly can. i have noticed no difference in when i power shift and shift hella fast. just a lot more tire spin.

I just shift as fast as I can. Im in a habit of it I guess cause when I try to power shift I can't do it, I guess im just not cordinated enough.

I give that . thats what I would recommend unless u have extra trannys sitting around...cuz it will shorten its life

I've been powershifting my b16a tranny for 4 years now. I've never EVER had anything go wrong witht he tranny. It still shifts perfect and the syncros are fine. It never grinds for me at all.

People who say powershifting shortens the life of the tranny are doing it wrong. I keep my foot to the floor and tap the clutch as I throw it into the next gear.

I use to powershift, but my friend got me thinking about what would happen if I missed a shift @+9500rpm *kabooooom* I just stick to speedshifting.

Check this out:

Now, that's what I call mashing thru the gears!

why in the WORLD would you powershift?

My goodness...it makes no sense.

I CAN'T powershift my car street car.

If you're already shifting at redline, and you keep it floored, it just bounces off the rev limiter and you lose more RPM than you do if you were 'granny shifting'.

I don't get it.

but if you are turbocharged, it is different, because if you keep the throttleplate open, your blow-off never wastes any pressure, and you never lose boost during the shift...

it is a big time saver on turbo cars... but you have to have some sort of a two stage rev limiter so you dont over-rev during the shift...

edited for spelling...

b-series trannies floored,h series have problems above 8200. GTP's pro stock crx has no problems shifting at 9500 data logger shows about 11k by the time it engages with stock syncro's working just fine.

POWERSHIFT is the only way to go fast, if you properly pwershift you should only raise your rpms by 300-400 . you should already be putting pressure on the shifter when your about to shift so it will fly into the next gear when the clutch disengages. but what do i know.
