great thread.

and to the above poster, these cars are dialed in enough to have all the Top mph already on the list because their ETs get them up there already.

It seems almost ridiculous that these cars are going that fast. I still can't believe it. It simply ludicrous et and speed.

i can remeber when there was a $25,000 purse for the first to break 200 mph.

who woulda thought the fwd's would have ever gone where they are at now.

to all those who have pushed the envelope and sport to where it is today.

Who ran the quickest ET in a Hotrod type car? Is it Ron Lummus? Or Gardella's old Colbalt?

I think Gardella's old cobalt has that record at 7.69 in 2005 at Norwalk.

I don't think it went that fast in Hotrod trim, did it? I thought Lummus had the record until they switched the rules.

If im not mistaken it was a 7.79 for Gary but it had a 74mm turbo on it. Which was legal in Nopi at the time. In full NHRA 70mm trim for back then i think it went like high 80's. The 53 pass last year was with a bigger turbo on it. Next year might be nice seeing a few more hot rod cars. Hopefully they give the ecotec a little more hairdryer.

So the record for a 74mm turboed HotRod car is either 7.72 or 7.69, huh?

Gives us something to shoot for (in my dreams)!
