Fuel Pump needs...
I'm on the final stretch to get my car together and have a few questions for you pros out there.
If my car is only putting out about 300whp, why do I need a fuel pump rated to 800? This is a serious question, because I want to make sure that I'm getting the right stuff.
I have a 1 gallon fuel cell in the front of driver side wheel. What pump do you guys recommend and why?
Thanks,
Steve

Hey Steve,
I was using an aeromotive tsunami pump but I failed to install a vent into the fuel cell, causing it to overheat. I purchased a bosch pump from tony1 and the thing has been working great. Ran my personal best on sunday in my k20-ef at 11.92@114.

Julian

Yeah, I should be fine with an Aero pump. How's the car feel bro? I didn't even know you were at the track yet. Nice times!

The motor is stock. It'll have new pistons, rods and cams, but stock bore and stroke. I'm not sure 12.5:1 merits alcohol.
That and I have no experience in running it.

car feels great now that i can run the right fuel pressure. the low end needs a little tuning but the car pulls crazy after half track

Alcohol from what ive seen usually nets higher comp than that. Not quite sure if it will burn at 12.5:1. Maybe Tony1 might elaborate??

The compression has nothing to do with the fuel pump. Figure out how much power you plan to make and go from there. Get more pump than you need, because you'll always want more power than you have. Do it once and be done with it. The Bosch pump will be very reliable and you'll never max it out in an n/a application.
Well basically it goes hand in hand... to make the power you desire, will probably net a higher compression ratio. I think anything like C-16 should work fine on higher comp you may not need to run alcohol but remember you will need to run extra injectors in a alcohol setup.
So what Tony1 is saying just get the big pump, dont kick yourself in the **** later for not doing so. Do it right the first time

Anyone have any comments on this? Will the Aero unit be a good pump to run me through the gambit?

Art's saying Bosch, others are saying Weldon, Skunk is running Aero.../sigh I just want to know what's the best bang for the buck.
...and why.

Tony too..hehe
The bosch pump is also a puller type pump. I run 2 of them.
