hey guys
Im running 16"x7 rims now but need 15" to get slicks or ET's. I really have no idea if I should get slicks, or ET streets because i want something to stick well on highway pulls, but also good at the track. Im looking into some rota slips and if i get slicks/ET's would these work..http://www.jegs.com/i/PJ1/870/SP162/...ctId=749307..?

Also I am running stock axles and stock brakes. So not looking to break things lol. Again I have never bought or used ET's or slicks, so any help will be great. thanks

How much power are you making? It really depends on power levels and what you really want to do at the track.

If its the 400 that you have in your sig, then slicks would be great at the track, but not so much on the highway. You'll be spending a lot on replacing slick if you drive them often on the highway. They are so soft, they would not last long. But at the track, 400 would be good for 11s on slicks. But for multi purpose, track and highway, I would say the Mickey Thompson ETs would be good. They stick well and will not wear down as much.

i have ran et streets and m&h. i will never buy streets again. but do what you want.

 

i believe he is talking et streets which are a slick with lines in them similar to m&h or if hes talking radials

m&h is the only way to go there on my car for the dyno and minor street pulls nothing hooks like them and i love my 24.5x9.5x13 slicks

 

Speaking of WHich John, I want to try to stuff a G 60 isntead of the 235/60 15... Whats the difference at the tread top between the two?

 

Asking what's a good sticky tire for the street is like asking what suspension to run for the best ride.. everyone ends up saying GC/Koni > everything else thread over lol. Pretty soon the love of the M&H tires will be at that same point! glad to hear that us FWD folks still have a chance!

The bias ply G/60-15 has the same look as the P235/60-15, but it's taller and wider. Make sure you have the room for growth.

the et streets were all over the road and spun like a bitch. after switching i thought my car was slower because i didnt need to saw the wheel and it hooked up. lol

 

I have stock 2000 Si rims, can anyone steer me in the right area for tire sizes? slicks and for the radials? I keep hearing 205/50 and 225/50( which seems a bit wide) for a stock si rim

 

i ran 225's on a set of slips back in the day and didn't have any clearance issues

M&H 235-60-15 street/strip till the cows come home! I had them on my car last season and they are awesome for the street. I was hooking 620whp in 4th gear in 45 degree weather. I didnt get to make a track pass with them but Im confident they would work great.

I have them mounted on 15x7 +35 offset wheels on an Eg chassis. I didnt have any rubbing issues but I did have to raise the car up. Assuming these tires are for your EM1 you will be fine since they have larger wheel wells than Eg's. They drive better than my bfg drag radials on the street. The car felt solid. People kept telling me that they would be too sloppy on the street and even at 10-12psi in the tires, the car drove better than I could have asked for.
