first time to the track on slicks!! really pleased
Well, I finally got my car out to the track friday night. I had been waiting to install the clutch and it finally came in friday morning. so, I spend half the day going to pick up the clutch at my friends work. I also had to find some race gas. So, I ended spending about 3-4 hours of the afternoon runing around. finally got started on the car and get it back together around 8 pm that night. I got to the track at 9pm just in time to make a few passes. The local 1/8 mile puts on a midnight madness kinda program. It's fun and some cool cars usally come out.
Here's the cars setup.
1995 Honda civic ex coupe
84mm AEBS Sleeved Ls/Vtec
built head stock gsr cams
inline pro turbo mani
SC61
LS trans w/quife LSD
dss stage 3's w/ hubs and extended studs
24.5x8x13 M/t on bogarts
I was running the car on 16-17psi w/114 race gas. The car was built and tuned by Speed Innovations and RLZ. Car was tuned at 22psi on race gas, but it was my first night out and first time ever on slicks. So, I took it easy.
Made 5 passes
-first pass was just gettin use to the car. First time on slicks. shifting at 8k
60ft- 1.83
330-5.51
et-8.25
mph-93
-Second pass. still didn't launch as good as I'd like. push the car a little harder
60ft-1.83
330-5.09
et-7.65
mph-98
-3rd pass. Nailed the launch, but banging off the revlimiter in first makes for a hard 1-2 shift. Miss second bad. fell completely out of boost.
60ft-1.72
330-5.36
et-8.11
mph-91
-4th pass, was a grude match with my friends turbo LS Eg hatch. We did it heads up with a flagger cause I was to big of a sissy to launch off of a pro tree. No time slips, but felt like the best pass of the night for both of us. He car runs in 7.4-7.6's
-5th pass, was another grudge match against the Valdez lancer( Old 70's rwd mitsubishi lancer w/ a buick grand national motor. Big single turbo, 4 linked rear suspension Consistant 1.4 60ft's) . He spanked my butt, but I'm not pushing my car to it full potential yet. once the cars at full potential, I know I still can't beat him, (he's drug the back bumper coming off the line before) but it'd be a lot better race. He trap 108mph that pass
60ft-1.71
330-4.98
et-7.48
mph-100(heck ya)
Over all. I was really happy with my times. I'm having some traction issues from mid track till the end. The track is kinda old and they don't prep it very well, other then the first 150 feet or so. they're gonna resurface the track during the off season, but that doesn't do me any good now. I can't wait to get some more track time and get my Et's down. 100mph should be good for a little lower 7. So, it's just gonna take some practice.
