Default First time on slicks

I went to the track today and used 22-8-13 M&H slicks for the first time and I loved them. I usually use 205-50-15 falken azenis.
Track conditions were crap today due to rain.
Heres my best slip:
rt: .783
60: 2.091
1/8: 8.833
mph: 81.25
1/4: 13.639
mph: 102.76
I had the slicks at 9psi but any tips would be good

heres my setup:
1991 civic EF9
stock jdm b18c
i/h/e
gutted interior
4 point cage
y1 box with stock 4.266 final LSD
13-8 custom arrow wheels

Heres some pics

How were you launching the car? The best i've pulled with 22-8-13 M&H's was a 1.77 60ft but that was just once. I can usually pull 1.8-1.9 all the time. Since it was your first time running slicks i'd assume you were taking it kind of easy. If your pulling 13.6's you have plenty of power to get the 60ft down. Still great time though

Hey Aaron good to see the car on slicks, I should have come up to watch. How is Jock's civic coming along???
Try less pressure, I was running 1.8 60ft's at the last meet I went to along the track will be colder now. But I normally run 6-7psi..
I will hopefully be up at the track next time anyway aswell...

traction was INSANE, alot of it, tried launching at different rpm's starting @ 3500 to 6k, maybe its in how the launch is, say riding the clutch , or poping it?

I usually launch my car from 6-8k rpms and kinda pop the clutch but I preload it first so it slips a little bit.

I've been using the 22x8 (tire pressure 9 psi) on my turbo setup. I launch at 7k with a 2-step. 60ft's are consistent 1.8 even managned 1.76 this past weekend. I recommend that you launch that puppy at around 7000 + rpms.

I just purchased some 24.5x8.5-13. 22's are a bit small for my setup, but I used them because my friend let me borrow them , and I had never ran on slicks before. Good luck

1/4 mile time looks good. Just drop the 60ft. A tenth down low is good for a tenth or two up top.

Stick with the 22's and get use to them. You could step up to the 24's, but just make sure to launch high enough. Start the pressure off higher 10-12. If your spinning them start dropping the tire pressure. I bet your not launching high enough on the 22's.

ok, launched and held the brake, ran 1.8 60 ft's all day long, @ the local 8th mile, this track is really agressive, i got a littl emoney saved up for new slicks, i need new ones, i'm gonna mount the 22's on some honda 13's and put maybe 24's on the bogartz. the 22's got a little bubble on the side, i dont really want 2 run them on the 1/4.

the 8th mile over here is realllllly rough., alot more tougher than the 1/4 which is rockingham. so i think i might step it up to 24's

What were you hitting before on your Falken Azenis? Because I was also running on falken azenis, but now I just recently got slicks and hope to do better.

the 15" don't have enough sidewall if you have decent power.

9-10lbs on a stock GSR tranny. Make sure your toe and camber is set right also.

the settings were the same as the last time i raced, i might need a spacer for the crx. i checked the left slick, and it looks like it was rubbing. all night the car would pull to the left, even out the hole. i think that might be the reason, what you think?
