The thing that I've found best.......park away from everybody and just do your own thing....its hard to stay on track with a million people around... love the car....
my friend that video taped was there. But He showed up just to watch for support. Which i appriciated

my point.

All water boxes I know of are under four feet (and that includes the 2nd water edge).

I just don't like the idea of starting a burnout in 2nd or 3rd gear on a dry tire. Unnecessary abuse IMO. Help the clutch by having the tire as slippery as possible.
nobody said anything about a dry tire. just roll thru it.

Those slow shifts will kill mph with the respool. That's almost like missing a gear there. Just seat time man.

no, My station has changed quit a bit in the last yr. went from 4 guys and 1 girl to 3 girls and two guys. Its a badass station to be at though and they are are working women...I do miss all guys though, can say whatever you want usually.

Some how the 1100 member dept knows I work on honda's and used to be a mechanic..lol Gossiping ff's. They all just want to see it cause i never drive it up there.

silver-Possibly saturday. My wife kinda claimed me for the weekend but just told me her girls invited her out. Works perfect. I can go to the waterpark during the day and race at night. But i still gotta fix a busted breakline. I will also have My RD-1 back by then.

Alopez-yeah man. No worries, Believe it or not you did help me. When I saw how you guys worked, and what you brought to the track. All the little things, It helps me prepare next time. As simple as bringing me some "off" for the mosquitoes and water for me to drink and a low pressure tire gauge. I forgot those things. You also reminded me when i had the TPS issue you where like, "just fix it you brought your tools". I was like..."oohhh yeahhh" hahaha. Thanks again

do you have full throttle shift setup on s300? I gained a mph or 2 with it and times dropped alot. you really just need to be bangin gears. also when I started doing 3rd gear burnouts my 60's started getting alot better.

yeah cool man. I need to look at the logs. I dont know how much boost i was runining. but i did look at my shift light and I know for a fact I shifted way way early on several shifts. I couldnt remember if i set the shift light up at 9 or 94. and the stock tach was off so, ill have to upload them from the logs. Im sure ill be running 10's soon just because Im more confident in the car and i know what i need to do to get better. That was a ruff night just jumping in head first and seeing what happens

I cut high 1.6 60's with a welded diff in a ls turbo hatch (street car 315whp). the burn out and right tire pressure is key.

The tire circumference is greater than the length of the water box. The whole tire doesn't get water just driving through. So if you stop on the dry portion of the tire, outside of any portion of the waterbox, you'd be doing a dry burnout - which I think is being overly harsh to drivetrain components when it's something preventable.

I mean, hell, if anyone is THAT worried about water splashing up on the fender wells, get a helper to go out with a towel and clean them quick prior to staging. There are solutions to everything.

from what iv seen, every hot rod at my track pulls into middle water box, start burn out and rolls through, they still manage to pull the front tires off ground even if water were to drip on the slicks from fenderwells. From my experience iv done both 1st gear and 2nd gear burnouts in my car, both 60ft were about same launching at 6500 and 8psi antilag, only difference is on first gear burnout after i launch, top of first gear will spin and bounce off revlimiter apose to 2nd gear burnouts, after launching car sticks all 1st gear..But to sum it up its all about Seat Time and trying different things little bit at a time, lower tire pressure, raise launching, adjusting boost levels,ect...especially Faster Shifting!..

I disagree, Spinning the tire in the water box will kill 60's because water will be dripping off your fender well onto your slick at the launch.

I suggest 3rd gear burnouts and holding the throttle in high RPM's, not letting it bounce off the limiter. See enough smoke and roll out of the burnout. Make sure your ebrake is locking real well because it looks like it is giving up and your car wants to grab.

i learn the hard way about water in the wheelwell falling on the tire on a wet burnout..

sometimes you have to switch up how and where you set up for a burnout.

I have raced nights where there were a lottttt of big tire RWD cars, they just tub through the water , and the big tires drag out the water past the actual waterbox. So if you are used to stopping at a certin spot, you might want to set up a lil further up so you have less water to clear (or have a friend set u up and look for the end of the water. Or make sure to tell you how far to roll the burnout out so you dont chance stopping short on a burnout and still be in water. Then you creep to the line with wet tires.)

all you need is a pit guy (you have to have a buddy that also races, or likes cars)..

get something going to where you pit for him, and he pits for you.

put you in the water box, makes sure there is nothing ruff in the way that could damage a rite (i once pit for a friend and seen alum soda can tabs, change, even a allen key someone had dropped ). Pick that **** up, shredding a tire cant be fun.

Make sure you line up in the groove, i see a few people at events that dont have someone spotting them end up out the groove. I even seen one guy with the driverside tire almost on the shoulder.

He can also see what you are going right, and what you are doing wrong .So you can make the corrections. Tell you stuff that you can't tell from the seat. Does it look like the car is spinning the tire on the rim, maybe warn you that he sees blue smoke or sparks, who knows maybe a fire.

I've cut low 1.7's at the River! I wouldn't even speculate where you were at without logs. You could have been at spring power for all you known, did Tony set up your boost by gear? I run what he set and tweak from there! The hardest part at least for me is climbing out the hole, looks like the low 1.7 you got was a great start! Get more practice in, IFO is right around the corner.

yeah I dont know where I was honestly. This is a a great thread for me. Its also a great thread for the people who arent posting and just reading. I can see a lot of people needed this type of help but not really having anything to tell them. Keep the suggestions coming. This is what should be in a DR forum.
