Default finally got around to pulling my engine apart from before the shootout

I have been very busy and just got around to pulling apart the engine that broke on the dyno before the shootout. The crank is fine and the bearings even looked good. Can't say as much for the block and rod. I had to cut one rod bolt off.LOL
The pistons looked great after a long time of abuse. Anybody want 3 rods and pistons?LOL
sorry, the pics are from my camera and not that good as usual

Looks very similar to when we punched out a rod bearing and tossed a rod out of the block on our SFWD CRX a few years ago.

that was his old motor right before the shootout.

Looks like you broke that one good Danny. 9yrs I'd say you got the use out of that motor I would be happy it held up that long.

yeah, i am pretty happy with it making it that long, it was just bad timing. i was already working on a new motor for the shootout, i just didn't get it done in time. i was planning on making it through the shootout with this one and keeping it for backup with new rods and rings. oh well.

So your saying the age of the rods is what caused the failure? My Crower Billets are around 8yrs old now too.....hmmm thats kinda scary.

I don't really know, but they have had the crap beat out of them for 9 years. I really don't think there is any reason to investigate it any farther. LOL.
