Final Drive or LSD??
Im deciding on which one would benefit me the most.I know they both would but i cant afford both right now.Im looking to get a 4.9FD from SRR and a quaife lsd or maybe the type r lsd and FD.Its for an all motor EG with a gsr tranny.
The SRR 4.9 FD does not fit a B-Series transmission, it's made for D-Series

I cant afford to sell my tranny and add 800+bux extra to get a type r tranny. That is why i asked which one would benefit me more since i can only afford one.I got 1 vote for the FD,anyone else?

Sorry alcohol teg,i can get them for 800shipped from someone on this board. Also I cant find a type R tranny with an lsd and 4.7fd for $1100.There is someone on this board who sells them but there $1500.
youll see more benefit initially with the FD
you can get a SRR FD to work in a b-series you just need to get the right one. i have one in my d-series i think it is one of the best fd out super short and i drive mine on the street. i got my tranny biult at speed machine they were pretty quick and gave me a number of options for my car i recomend them. 760-746-3117 http://www.speedmachineracing.com
if your GSR tranny is in good condition, a few options for ya...
1) buy a used ITR LSD for like $400, new bearings for $50, then buy a OEM honda 4.7 fd for around $400. that willl be an $800 total project for you.
2) buy a used ITR LSD for $400, new bearings for $50, then buy an SRR 4.7 or 4.9 fd and the extra parts as well which will all run you like $600.
3) buy a new Quaiffe LSD for $800, new bearings for $50, then buy an ATS 4.9 fd for around $725. that willl be an $1575 total project for you. ouch.
4) sell your GSR tranny for $750 and buy a US spec (96-97 jdm also) ITR tranny for around $1100 with LSD already in it. this already has slightly better gearing than your GSR tranny, and LSD already inside.
5) sell your GSR tranny for $750 and buy a JDM B16 hydro tranny with an oem Honda LSD already in it... for like $800. this already has slightly better gearing than your GSR tranny, and LSD already inside, plus you can then spend $400-$500 on the SRR fd for B16 trannies.... but the B16 tranny internals are not as strong, and they do NOT have dual cone synchros like all R trannies do.
Those scenarios make the idea of selling your GSR tranny for $750 then buying an JDM ITR 98+ spec LSD 4.7 fd tranny a much better option in my eyes. As long as you trust the seller, if you are thinking about buying something from b18c_powered_si then you have NO worries, he is trustworthy

Thats some good info,I'll probably wait for an srr final drive and a quaife.I think someone on this thread said you would hook up better with slicks then you would with street tires and lsd.
