i need help explaing something to my friends, he the situation my friends are in love with mustangs and we always have disscusion about how a 2000lb civic hatch with a c5 in it could distroy some mustangs at the track and on the street but it is hard for me to explain cause i dont know all the facts , i juts tell them that light weight + power is a killer but i need some other examples why they win ? can u give me some , thanks

 

Power to weight ratio. It's that simple.
edit: Or you could just find an example of each of the cars in question and run them.

Just get a calculator. Divide 2000 by 195 = 10.25lb/hp (less is better). Now take 3200 (rough weight of a new GT most likely more than that) and divide it by 260 =12.3lb/hp. Its not all there is too it but it should get the point across and they can't argue a calculator.

You must have smart rednecks in your area then. The Jimbos I know will just break the calculator or say that they are both made in Japan so it's full of ****.
