weight reduction question
sup guys,
i was wondering for the longest time, i think i may have read it in honda-tech ages ago -> tried the search and could not find it...
my question is, is it true that reducing every 11 lbs off your ride could eventually FREE UP 1hp?
thanks in advance

Re: weight reduction question (wilsel)
I wouldn't see how loosing weight would effect the power output of an engine - I know less weight=faster car ( if done right ) but thats just less mass to move. It would put less strain on the engine 4sure, but not "freeing" up any hidden power. An example would be a simple 1/2 ton truck, if it tows something heavy its not loosing power - just useing the power it came with. I could be completly wrong though that makes sense to me

Re: weight reduction question (Resurgent)
It makes sense, but I think you are taking it too literally. Basically removing XX amount of weight will make the car accelerate as fast as it would with 1 more HP. Make sense?
For example only: Add a CAI worth 2 HP, or remove lets say for example 50lbs. Both should increase acceleration equally if 25lbs=1HP.
