Re: Everyone in Street Stock speak up
My Gti's right around 2250-2300 in s/s trim, and i haven't exactly been dominating the class. A bigger, heavier car making 300+whp went 12.5 at wcf with bolt ons, radials, and minimal weight reduction. Just because there are two vw's, and others don't want to use the current rules to their fullest extent doesn't mean we need to be penalized. I say, meet the rules before bitching that they're unfair.
Iam sorry Iam not bitching as you call it.... I was just making a comment. I haven't gone to Jason@MIR or anyone that makes these rules to ask them to change anything because I know that Iam only look at from MY point of view ( what will make me win!). LOL!!
still think a 2500-2600lbs weight requirement would be good tho
P.s Iam running a V6 so this also would apply to me

Re: Everyone in Street Stock speak up
The pink Gti on Slicks and skinny is only going .2 faster. Think of what a maxima at 2300lb's on 23in slicks and skinnys would go with a good driver....yeah 11's
Fwi 12V VR6's Hit a brick wall around 200-210whp. So them at 2600 pounds would be WAY slower than all of the 300+whp maxima's.
I have this feeling you have a maxima? Why don't you work more on your chassis of your car. Every bit of weight counts less drivetrain strain and breaking. Welcome to heads up racing. It takes WORK to win.

The 12v VW's are out of power, I wouldn't sweat those.. and none are even close to 2100lbs. Rule prepped the lightest mine has been is 2460.

I can second 97vrt on the maxima comment, he went 12.5s in a four door family car on drag radials at from what i understand 118mph. If that mph is right it doesnt add up to the et, Im not complaining about it because i went a .10 slower on a bone stock block with a semi built head that barely made 230hp. Im gonna build something for this year that is gonna actually have some *** behind it not a torqueless wonder. As well as suspension and chassis work because im running on blown out stock suspension with cut springs

i enjoy watching this class as it gives the little guy a place to run for not a lot of money. A lot of the BS that comes up in other classes isn't here in this one. Its just good ole racing

Thats the truth. Keep the BS out of this class. Just race and dont complain about anything if you lose.

Stupid fast huh? so that Maxima with just his back seat out at 2600-2700 pounds going 12.5 ON radials isn't fast huh?

I do like this class and follow/race it all season. like you said a 2300lb max would run 11's so y not have a 2500 weight requirement??
honesty I just like running in this class its affordable and competitve

Re: Everyone in Street Stock speak up
i like street stock. its my favorite class. and i have several friends that race in said class. it would be stupid to get rid of it. i'd like to build a car for street stock in the not so distant future. i had planned to this year but all the BS talk about adding a weight limit scared me off lol

Re: Everyone in Street Stock speak up
That would be dumb and im sure everyone else in the class would agree with me. No weight restrictions heads up run what you brung racing, how drag racing is suposed to be. if they inforced that rule 75% of the class wouldnt be there because they would be at the store buying dumb bell weight sets to put in the back seat. lol

Re: Everyone in Street Stock speak up
Making us run on 93 octane will make it harder for us racers with d-series cars to compete. I know Tuna ran on race gas last year and so did I in our CRXs.
As for weight limits, I think we should have no weight limits. I by no means have a gutted car, I have a full weight Si CRX and I would not be happy if I had to add hundreds of lbs. to my car.

Re: Everyone in Street Stock speak up
A 100 octane max would be nice but that would be too much work for a class that gets a $500 payout for first place. Like I said before, it will get settled soon Jason is a busy guy and he will get to it sooner or later
