I have a question bout et's.

I drive an 87 teg with a 92 zc motor, with I/H/E.
I gor a set of slicks from a friend an tried them at the track down here in Trinidad. First off the track isn't all that great. Off the groove is pure concrete and the marshall do not want you to race on the groove with radials.

So the first time I used the slicks I was sceptical about my axles so I lined up off the groove. Best time for the day was 16.4 @85 mph with lots of wheelspin and 2.6 60ft.
So I went back last week and decided to line up on the groove. Best time for the day was 16.54 @ 82 mph 2.4 60 ft.
Why didn't I improve my et. any suggestions?
My launch is around 3500 to 4000 rpm.

 

What tire pressure are you running?? but even with the ZC... you should be launching higher than 3500-4000 rpm with slicks.

 

Launch higher. Try about 10 psi and drop it 1/2 lb. at a time until your 60's don't improve. You should be able to pull 1.9 60's fairly easily.

I run about 14psi in the tyres. I'll drop it to 10 psi and what rpm is good. 5-5.5gs?
