Does anyone know what product works the best in getting up all the black tar on the floor boards?

yes, people use the dry ice to freeze the sound-deadening, then hit it with a mallot, and the stuff just shatters... then you just need to bag it up and throw it out...

also, you can use a heat gun, to soften it, and then scrape it off with a plastic scraper, followed by goof-off to remove the gooey residue...

but freezing it is by far the easiest...

yea dry ice works, on mine i just went straight to the mallet, it worked just fine.

i used a torch and a scraper. Works ok and but its a pain in the ***.

Haha, if your not careful, thats exactly what you will do. I remember the first time I ever used one. The shop I worked at had a really nice one, and the first thing I used it for was cutting up an old bug. Took me 3 hours with a air chisel and a Sawzall and the once whole bug was in about 15 pieces in a dumpster.

Yup dry ice makes it way cleaner to remove gunk.
