Default Drag slick beadlock question

Setup:
K20 turbo 468whp
Lenso 13' wheels M&H 23' slicks

So I have ran my slicks a total of 2 events now. I started at 15psi cold then dropped to 13psi warm over several passes. The second event I dropped to 12.5 psi warm. I want to drop them lower but I do not have bead locks on my wheels so I don't really know how low can be too low, or dangerous. I wasn't worried about spinning the beadlock on the wheel but the last thing I want to do is be half way down track and blow a bead off, causing a crash. Is this something I should be concerned with? They hook decent but this is my first set of slicks and my 60ft times show it.

I would say you can take them down to 7psi. What you can do to see if your slick is moving is use a grease pen and mark the rim and slick with a line. Make a pass and see if the lines are still together or separated.

Also you can get rim screws added to your rims so your slicks won't move around if they even do.

I agree. I was even going to say rim screws but you covered that.
I'm at around 650whp and I run 6-7psi in my tires. No bead locks, but I do have rim screws. They are way cheaper than bead locks and are easy to install.

I run my slicks around 7-8psi without rim screws or beadlocks.

You'll probably need to step up to a 24.5 slick with your power level.

Rim screws are definitely a future investment for me. I was just wondering how low people go without them. Thanks for all the answers guys! And about the 23" slicks yeah they are too small, I'm just gonna use them up though then move on to a 24.5

I will drop these babies on down and see how they perform.

Moroso Wheel Rim Screws part number 90100, comes with 35 per pack and these are Grade 8 Steel Zinc Plated. I get mine from Summit Racing.

I am going to Thunder Valley in Bristol TN this weekend. I'll slowly make my way down to the single digits and report back. That along with a functioning launch control maybe my 60ft will get into the 1.9's.

You'll easily get into the 1.9 60ft range. Have fun!
