Difference between an NHRA and an IHRA chassis cert?
from my knowledge, it all depends on the track. they both use the same sfi book so technically there is no difference.
in a nutshell, how it used to be was nhra stickers are accepted at ihra tracks, but ihra stickers were not accepted at nhra tracks. money talks...one of those things when it comes to this situation.

cages are something we spend money on that I personally dont think we should. I mean is is for safety yes it is, and does it save lives well yes it does but how many 9 second passes from guys riding crotch rockets have you seen with a cage attached to there bike lol. We have metal around us, but just think they have to ensure to dodge the car in the other lane fixing to run them over.
lol you know thats right when i run in heartland park topeka there like oh its an import im like yup runs 13's, and then i click off a 210second pass there like hey you need to slow it down and they are all over my ****
like i said i could go on and on about the racket NHRA puts us through when they don't have a SINGLE event that we as a whole would ever attend, the index class they have now does not count.

my life is worth alot, and i have more chance dying in iraq with a mortor falling out the air than on the track buddy
so the guy riding the crotch rocket magically is protected????????
now the only places i see really requiring roll cages are nhra tracks i sign that form before we hit the track like everyone else does that says there not liable for your injury. did i say its not needed nope thats what what my original post was read it again. its about double standards

Since we our cars don't have a place in the NHRA it seems pointless for them to do our cert unless it is close by. I wish there was a way that the sanctioning body we use, whether it be IFO, NSCRA, etc, could just verify that the cage in the car is certified by one sanctioning body or the other. I know the tracks wont ever let that happen though
we don't even race in nhra sanctioned events anymore so why do we need to comply with their rules? why should tracks hold us to nhra's standards when the race has nothing to do with nhra? i'm fine with having safety equipment and i understand that all parties involved want to keep everyone safe, but we DO sign a god damn waiver at the track that explains that we are accepting the risk of injury.

exactly what i was getting at from motorcyle to car there is no differance except they tend to protect the guys in the cars/truck more than the guys on the bikes.
im asked not to run again because i dont have a cage, and to be honest i was fine with that but im in the stands watching since i paid to get in and a bike runs 8.90 something and im like dam what protects this guy leather as well as a helmet get real

Personally I want to put a 10pt in my car for my own safety and to avoid the chance of being booted at local events. At major events how often do they even check if you have a 9 second lic. or a cage cert?
im not to sure about that at all im not on a cage now because im having a hard time figuring out if im staying with my ef or going to an eg. i dont wanna drop 1500 on a cage then decide to get a differant chassy and have to buy another cage
i ran 10.6@136 they got mad
i ran 11.55@141 they didnt say **** times arent hat should matter the mph is

throw a S&W in it. chances are if it has a cage at all they wont even check it, esp. at a local track for test and tunes
I'm guessing a lot of it comes down to the cost of insurance for the tracks...someone that owns a track should chime in and let us know HOW we could potentially rectify this because it is a little ridiculous.
I agree 100%, NHRA is a bunch of bullshit. We have to pay membership fees to be able to race, though we don't race with them. We have to JUMP THROUGH HOOPS to get cage certifications around here. Story is the Dallas tech inspector is also an A/C guy, that's NHRA's reason that he never returns calls. I've been trying for a year to get my cage recerted. NHRA said I might have to drive to Houston or Oklahoma to get it done, 3 hours for a ****ing chassis cert because the idiot in Dallas doesn't do his job. I called the IHRA tech guy and he was here the following day..

Why can't you just take your car to a divisional race and have them recert it then?
