How Much Coverage?
I searched and found most posts regarding the cost of insurance, but not coverages.
I have been getting quotes for:
100/300/50
10/20 uninsured
and comp w/ 100 deduct.
I am not going to get collision as the bike is owned and not worth but a few grand. The price difference was too much to justify it, that and I have access to do any repairs should the need arise.
Bike is a 06 Ninja 250R, I am new rider, who is taking the MSF course soon.
Do these coverages seem like enough? too much?. Anything else that might me useful?
Bike is not the sole means of transportation for me if that even matters.
Thanks,
Josh

Seems like a decent level of coverage but most of the guys in here have far less. I tend to carry more insurance than most but I'm a bit older so my rates are cheaper. I don't think what you have here is overkill, unless the premium is so high that you can't afford it. I'm of the opinion that you should have at least what you have for your cage, especially since you're more likely to get into serious trouble on a bike.
Bike accidents have a tendecny to run up the medical bills so if you're regular medical insurance is weak make sure you're covered there. Medical is perhaps the most important piece when it comes to protecting yourself on a bike. Chances are you won't damage another vehicle that badly and there's only so much damage that can happen to things that aren't you.
