crapitol raceway does it again
im still gonna run the 3 battles, 1 idrc, and probly a couple street stock. the car is still legal and ran pretty well in that trim last season. went 12.3 w/ radials, exhaust, and 2350 lbs. word is comp4 may stay, but wont know for sure until ndra says so! dont forget about all the non-sanctioned races, world cup, summer slam, etc.

i to have been racing imports at capitol for close to 10 years, and usually do get respect, but let me give you an example of what happened the last time i went to testntune at the end of the season. i was in a staging lane behind a few domestics, there was a car ahead of us w/ no driver to be found. the domestic cars in front of me went around that car and got back into the lane, i followed and was imediately yelled at by the so called "official" and was told that if i ever cut in line again i could get the f*** out and not come back! obviously i was not cutting in line, and even if thats what he thought, he didnt say one word to the domestic guys he just waved them through. or i could tell you about last years import shootout in which i ended up lining up next to one of the staffs backhill cousins who was driving a ford sho." no idea why he was even allowed to race a ford at an IMPORT SHOOTOUT" anyways he didnt feel comfortable racing me so he got out of the lane and had his buddy w/ a 10 sec bug take his place. when i mentioned this to the officials i was told he is ok, but if i got out of the lane i would be disqualified. see, what you have to realize is that capitol likes to "keep it in the family" so they take all our money and they give it to their buddys. no one shows up to their import races because its a big joke.

I agree with you exactly on that, and you of all people shouldn't get treated that way, you conduct your self very professionally while your there and A regular as far as I'm concerned, but I guess if your not part of that tight nit family that shows up every saturday to race then you have no pull around there. saturday is the best day to go anyways, it seem to be the only day they do some kind of track prep. I have never had any problem personally at that track but I do see it happening to some of the import guy's, but some of them deserve it really, they kind of ruin it for the import guy's that are serious about it.

you gonna try to make it to a few more races this season?</TD></TR></TABLE>
There's a dip in the track at crapitol.....
As for MIR, not sure why but I always cut more consistent 60' in the right lane...
You guys have it pretty good though, I am an hour from MIR ..with no trailor. And having a near 400whp mirage and trying to drive it to the track and back w/o having issues is hard. My car hopefully will be ready for spring.. some one mentioned montly events and it looks like they are right.. I still need to mount my seat, buy some harnesses, slicks, and tune for high boost (maybe build a meth injection)

I agree. Crapitol has only become nasty to import racers due to the horrid demeaner of most of the street driven crowd. As well as the ave age of an import racer is obviously alot younger than most of the domestic guys. We can boycott crapitol if we want, but since 75-80 closed they got the O P S ( Outlaw Pro Street 10.5w) contract which brings in big money for the track, so they arent even going to notice we are gone. Only thing i ask is that we all get involved at our big events at like MIR or etown etc to keep it clean and professional. If you see a young punk getting all loud, buring out in the lanes or parking lot, fighting etc, get involed and put a stop to this **** before we all get blamed. Cause capitol will be the first in a long list of track to cancle import events if we dont do something. Hagerstown is a nice track also by the way.

i heard 75/80 will be open next year but that track is the worst for imports. fwd's cant do burn outs becasue the pit is at the way back. that track is much shitty then capital

i agree in part, but capitol didnt cancel thier import race because of how some import guys act. they say they had low turnout, which is true, i know because i was there for all of it. but the thing is they didnt always have low turnout. the first few import shootouts had good turnout for a local track. even a few years ago you could see some well known guys going down the track, such as jason hunt, norris, sean from extreme, inline pro, ritchie gibson, just to name a few. it used to be a decent local event, not anymore. the last couple years they have switched to bracket class' only, and they still havent bothered to learn anything necessary to host an import race. they dont follow any set of rules as far as car setup, whats allowed and whats not. they still dont know what class' they should have or what class any givin car should be put into. ****, even a couple years ago, larry came into the staging lanes and asked us to take a vote on what kind of tree we wanted to run, what kind of backhills **** is that. they are not familliar with imports, or import racing at all, and they dont care to learn. the only reason they were somewhat organized back in the day was because they had guys like steve from import sports there to tech in the cars. these types of tracks will be the only ones to get rid import races, not bacause of how some guys act , but because they dont want to step up to the import scene. you wont see that happen at mir or etown among others!

Everyone will have different opions of different tracks, But instead of us complaining about the tracks we need to all come together and support each event, Randy is right the reason why capital stopped the Import shootout was because they did not have a good turnout, and yes they do not know much about the import scene, I offered couple of month ago to work with capitol to help get a good event at capitol and everyone said screw capitol, We as a group could make these events awesome but no one wants to give it a try they would rather talk trash about the last time they went it sucked, I agree with everyone capitol does not care about import but we don't care about them either we just want to use their track. As long as we have the oh well attitude Rick is right there will be many other tracks not making events for imports. Come on guys they run 8.00 at capitol the track not that great but I have seen worst
The last time I was a Capital the track was fine after they repaved it.
I was able to cut low 1.6 60's witch is what the car did at the time.
The pits and staging lanes just suck.
People with C4 type cars will need a place to race, only if it was heads up.
I stopped going when they switched it to brackets
I remember the first race I went to at Capital with my eg Steve and some other guy gave me a hard time because I had A LS-vtec . They said the oil line was for the NOS.

They just don't understand how import events are ran, they switch to brackets because of the low turn out and yes that sucked, when you have the local guys get in their wives daily driver (import) and just drill everyone when he runs a constant 20.00. The only way it will go back to the heads up is if someone that knows how to run the event steps up and everyone puts a effort in and shows up to race
Somebody needs to take the iniative and rent the track out and host this event! They had a corvette day last year that I participated in and it was a great turnout. We aleady have a few people that said they would sponsor it and I'm sure it wouldnt be hard to get a few more sponsors.

it would be nice to arrange something if you could get enough people interested, and if capitol agreed to let an outside source officiate the event, as well as tech all cars. dont know that they would be interested, they might want to keep their "friends and family plan"
cant say i would be thrilled to go back after the way i was treated.
