Based on your avatar.... your front end isn't sealed off. You still get air flow. You're in a different catagory, if you ask me.

That explains why ammonia is used in cooling on the shuttle then eh? lol

What's funny is now I remember in high school putting water in a bell jar and doing stuff with it's boiling points

Ammonia? You sure that's why? I thought it was used in case the shuttle exploded. If the explosion didn't kill them the ammonia surely would. lol

Haha maybe we can learn something some way or another

While we are talking pressures, would putting a higher rated cap on help keep the water more stable? err, to the point that it would make a difference that is. I was thinking about tossing a 20 psi cap on my car instead of the usual.

The BP of water @ 15 psi is 249.8 deg F.... @ 25 psi it's BP is 266.8

You really think you'll ever get that hot with meth? Prob not....

Keep the low pressure cap.

More pressure= higher boiling point.

I ran my car for the longest time with a completely sealed of front damn much like some of these cars, zero air flow. Only on the hottest summer days did it act up. Biggest thing that helped was tune, that made all the difference in the world with my temps. Water wetter also helped, too.

I have no clue how hot it will get, I'm just cycling the water through the block. But no I doubt it will go over 250, I'd have bigger problems then which radiator cap to put on at that point haha

Power makes heat. You can't compare your results to something making 700% more power.

no i have the GE idler, if im understnding you correctly. Tony isnt using the water tube at all. Im still using the tube im just going to make away where the water pump fits in between the tube and the thermostat so it can act as if it was stock. I think that way is way more efficent and it looks better that having that pump sutting on the tranny. Kinda an eye sore to me

Thank you captain obvious, I wasnt comparing my results to anything I didn't see anywhere in this thread where we were talking about only X Y or Z cars. I was just sharing my experience with Water Wetter and what help my car with zero air flow.

BTW I make 150x times the power these no running car parts collectors do

Thanks, I would appreciate that. I do understand what you're saying though.

Will you be racing in SFWD or Outlaw?

SFWD, I still plan to drive my car on the weekends. My setup is very simple and i only want to make between 600-700 and it's all finianced through me I have no sponsors but myself. I can't afford outlaw or i dont want too..lol. I have actually never had an overheating problem since i did the spal fan/shroud set up. All this extra prep is for "just in case". I went from a 600hp full race IC to a 750hp precision. The 750 blocked everything completly. So i knew i would lack airflow. then i went with a watercooled turbo, not sure if it affects it or not but I can only imagine it does, so that probably would raise temps a degree or so. With the combonation of those things i just thought it was smart to just be prepared "just in case" i did have an air flow problem.

I want to drive my car normally when i dont want 15mpg in my truck..lol. Actually a true street car with 600+hp at the track.

And the EWP is legal for SFWD? Last I knew it wasn't.... that's what I was trying to get at....

I'm in the same boat you are in. I work crazy hours to have nice things. I have no sponsors. I do have an Outlaw ready car, but we'll see how that pans out over time. Hopefully all of my BIG expenses are done for a little while. I'm just trying to fine tune all the little **** now.

IF They dont allow EWP in SFWD i guess I wont be running in it. I dont give 2 ***** about that. I want my car to be cool when i drive it. If i have to have fun at non sanctioned events I guess that's what i have to do, but im not sacrficing cooling for it. Eventually the people who make the rules will come around if they dont, oh well. My car will not suffer from overheating here in tx cause of a silly rule

And all this time I thought I was the only one who thought like that. haha

I am the same. I refuse to use the stock pump. If it's not allowed then oh well. I just built this car for non-competative use. What a waste of time and money though!

Thanks

lol, when one of the bullseye riders comes out and go 8's and 170+ consistantly in outlaw trim then ill say that majic turbo is worth something.

We can make another thread about turbo's if you would like. You have to understand something, i dont sit back and wait for people to tell me what works. I go out and figure it out myself.

Now as far as the EWP, **** it. Yeah it would be nice but its not needed so everyone needs to stop crying. My car runs just fine in the middle of the summer heat with a stock pump. **** i didnt even have a fan on my until the outlaw race. I ran in 100 degree weather without it and went round after round. Dont take what I am saying wrong, I would like to have EWP on my car to cool it down inbetween rounds but that does not mean I wont race my car unless the rules change to allow it.

Very well said Miller!! What turbo are you running? I always assumed it was a S372R.
