ABSOLUTELY!!!! It is always recommended to get the motor bored after the process. While the distortion is minimal because the fitment is perfect. Any time you squeeze a tube there will be some distortion unless you can get all the way around each cylinder, which obviously can't happen.

With that being said I've done at least 20 motors which where already built and simply taken apart and put back together after the css process. I just make the press a little lighter for those motors and it doesn't seem to affect it.

Wish I knew about this before I dropped my block off last Thursday at the machine shop.

so if I have a stock bore motor 81mm already built with rods/pistons, if I sent you that current block. After you finish the process with the block would it require a overbore, or could I re-use my old pistons?

All I can say is that I've done a bunch of pre-bored/stock bore motors without issue, but stock bore builds are not ideal and I will not guarantee zero distortion.

oh ok, well if I had to go to 81.5mm or even 82mm could I send you guys the pistons along with the rods? I would have to go with the nippon piston on a eagle rod combo, how do you get the cast piston to fit on a forged rod?

You would only send pistons if you want us to also b&h the cylinders and rods if you wanted us to assemble the shortblock.

We have nippon racing pistons in-stock with wrist pin locks so you can use forged rods.

looks like ill need to pick up a spare block and some new pistons and give this thing a try. seeing people making well into the 600's and 700's and them staying together has sold me on this product.

Well, this is exciting, since usually the weakest part of Honda sleeves is at the top most of the time, this could be a very cheap alternative to spending 800-1200 bucks having a block sleeved, and would be super cheap to have a spare short block laying around. I like it........

x2....i still have my B16a2 stock complete swap laying around as a spare to my sleeved GSR setup im building, this fits right into that budget to get a spare motor together with pistons/rods bored out to 81.5mm....and no failures to date? Impressive.

All the results that I have seen so far are all on race gas. I would like to see a street car pushing pump gas with one of these blocks.

Was hoping to put down 700 but the dyno we were on sucks!!! This car has been running over 600 for over 6months, but it wouldn't hold anything over 500/19psi without slipping/loosing rpm signal. So we called it a day and will be bringing it to the track. That will be more of a test anyway.

Car went 11.0 at 15psi. Car felt super strong, but track was very cold up here in NH so car was all over the place. Will be going back next week to turn it up.

I know of at least a dozen streetcars running the CSS and haven't heard one complaint of running hot.
