well, i can't get a response from any NHRA rep. so i seek your opinions here on HT
i recently had my car down at a chassis shop and when i went down to check the progress i came upon this and don't think it will pass (no 6x6 on the rear strut's and how the main hoop is welded not to the floor) so my question is will it pass, and if not what can i do to make it pass if anything???
thank you for your help....

i dont think that will pass.. (even if the person certifying it is drunk, high, and just comming off a 72 hour coke binge)
Your supposed to have the correct size plating underneath the bars. Something that thin just isnt structurally sound... I can probably kick that thing right off the chassis, lol
If you really brought it to a shop, id bring it back there immediately and tell them that they need to open up an NHRA rulebook and re-do it, or putthe business up for sale first thing in the morning

that is pretty much my feeling, when i brought up the point of the non 6x6 he then proceeded to question if im even going to need a cage and yadda yadda i said, i am a paying customer and even if i wanted a cage on a 32 second car, i can because i am paying for it, luckily i took my car out of there and haven't paid it. I don't really think i want to do buisness there (since how i was treated) and i am probably going to be taking the car to Steen Chassis, but that is 8 hours from here so.....
thank you for your input and up for more answers....

i ve have welded a few cages in and i have alwasy done tem run on the floor with all 6X6 plates.. but I know my buddy has passed NHRA and IHRA tech and he runs a 10.6 and has his main hoop positioned at the same place.
THE MAIN HOOP PLACEMENT IS 100% WRONG,THEY WELDED IT TO A SEAT BRACKET WHICH UNBOLTS?? ITS SUPPOSED TO BE WELDED TO THE FLOOR BY 6X6 PLATES PERIOD OR IF NOT WELDED BOLTED TO THE FLOOR BY 6X6 PLATES. THE CAGE HAS TO BE REDONE............. THAT SUCKS............. THE WELDS LOOK PRETTY GOOD BUT STILL NOT CORRECT TO SAVE YOUR LIFE IF YOU ROLL OVER,THATS THE PURPOSE OF ANY CAGE.............. GOOD LUCK
