Default Burnout with Open Diff questions

How do you guys manage to get a decent burnout with an open diff? It was opening night at the track last nigth and all I can say is one side of my car has alot more rubber flung on it than the other. Thanks for you suggestions.

I guess I havent really tried doing a standing burnout since Ive gotten boosted, but when I was NA, my car would drag the rear tires and that was pegging rev limiter in 1st.... What else can you do help your car from dragging?

Pull in the box, do a short spin and pull out of the box about 2 feet. Wait for the signal and start your burnout and do a little side to side with the wheel to get both going.

I never really have huge problems with getting both tires to grip. LSD is nice but there are plenty of people who have gone 10's on stock peg leg trannys.

Yup Cecil is the only track open in the area right now. Not sure when the rest open.

God damn noob. Peg the limiter in second and let'r rip. With an open diff, I could do 2 wheel burnouts but not on radials.

Me and a few others with open diffs peg the limiter, 2nd gear, drop the clutch, turn the steering wheel 1 1/2" to 3" left to right as your doing your burn out. I usually had about the same amount of rubber on both sides of the car... With 312 hp and 24.5" slicks so? See how it works for ya.

dropping it in first or second gear make no difference lol. Tranny's aren't bullet proof no matter what you do to em! obviously if your dumpin the clutch, somethings gonna break sooner or later. Especially on a stock tranny. Just hope you got the gift from god

Last year I was watching an integra do a burnout after he pulled out of the box. He had an open dif so his left wheel was spinning ( I could see the smoke coming up from it.) but I was watching his right tire and it would slightly turn and stop and turn and stop over and over while the other tire spun continuously. It looked to be horribly painful on the drivetrain and I actually expected something to break before he finished his burnout.

Just posting an observation and something to think about if your considering an lsd.

What I do is: Give it enough gas to get the burnout going then ease down the rpm. I find that lets both wheels spin easiler than just going foot the floor. I also turn the wheel back and forth.

Should you continously turn the wheel left and right throughout your whole burnout, or just do it for a little while?

exactly.if you have coilovers, play with your ride heights to try to get even weight on the front tires.once i got it right,i was always able to get close to equal wheel speed with an open diff.
