Default Breaking the Differential???

i know someone else on here posted them breaking their differential on here, but i didn't want to be stealing his post.....so.....

What would help preventing the differential to break???(non LSD)

would a LSD differential help?

If you want to retain the stock diff, weld it up and it will last if done right. Either that or go with a spool or aftermarket diff. like a quaife.

Spools work well without breaking, but if you break an axle...you might put the car in the wall. I recomend a Quaife. They are warrantied for life even when racing and if you break an axle, you wont keep driving and the car wont shoot sideways on ya.

Has anyone ever tried cryotreating the stock diff. Maybe it would be cheaper to just get a quaife.

yeah...we almost went to the wall...

when we tried on the 24's for the first time, i launched it in first gear and had the car pull to the right...and it did the same in second to....but after that it was fine...i'm guessing it was because we didn't have LSD.

and then the second time we tried it the differential broke.

LOL...like lots of other things people get away with. If you read the rules...running a stock flywheel is even illegal.

What is your rear suspension setup? If its too agressive that could be a factor in breaking the stock diff. I launched on stock diff with no problems on 24.5's..

I would also highly recommend the Quaiffe..

are the skunk 2 700lb? I think they are. I have a friend who is breaking everything since he went to 1000lb springs and traction bars. For sure your setup doesnt sound too agressive, uglyasscivic on this board runs the same thing and he has never broken a diff, or even an axle for that matter, and he runs 10's
