block girdle?

Default block girdle?

Ok so I'm ready to order my erl bottom end for a 84mm ls vtec and I am wondering when I need to opt for the block girdle. Whp? Rpm? What ever

since its a ls bottom end i would do it any way,and try to use a gsr crank if you can, they are balanced better and cause less harmonic vibrations
if it was a gsr with the factory crank and girdle i wouldn't worry as much

Really don't think a company like erl would put a motor together without balancing it. I am buying a complete short block from them already assembled, not just a block

if thats the case pay the extra $200 and get the gsr block

even tho they blueprint and balance the motor there will be a big diffidence at 8/9/10k rpms

Are the 5 point girdles by erl really any better then the stock gsr one?

I would get the block girdle, Peace of mind is all I can say. If you don't and something goes wrong you might regret it! Your spending all that money why cut a corner for a few hundred buck, especially on the bottom end other bolt ons you can cut the corner and add them later this is something if you don't do now you probably won't later!
