Advantages of GSR block over LS?
my problem- I melted a piston in my GSR last night, cyl wall has damage. now a few months back I got in a minor accident but my full-race pro-am bars broke a chunk of block off my block (doesnt affect anything but id hate to sleeve a block that has damage)
A GSR block cost alot, and if im going to sleeve it away sucks buying a 800$ when I only need it for the bear block and am then going to sleeve it.
My crank, girdle and stuff are still good, my boy has a LS block that needs a crank, could I use me GSR crank and girdle and stuff? or what should I do?

The gsr block isnt really any stronger than the LS. From what your looking to do with using the girdle/caps the only thing you will lose is the oil squirters, which I usually block off in a built engine anyhow. Only thing you will DEFINETLY need to do is have the block align bored/honed with the use of the new gsr caps.
